well. that was unexpected. he wasn’t one for this sort of “humor” or “prank” but it sure did leave him dumbfounded. it took him a few moments to muster up any words, and when he did, he spoke with an uncertain tone of voice.

he wasn’t sure how to react, seeing none other than “the great doctor himself” wishing him a happy birthday, despite being late. part of sans wanted to pout, to be stubborn, to say something along the lines of “where were you?”, but… he stopped himself, clearing his metaphorical throat. boy was he upset, but it was obvious he was trying.

saying that his cheekbones had turned into a soft shade of cyan would be an understatement, his face practically glowing with the light blue hue. he was absolutely terrible at celebrations, and especially so when his crush friend and roommate was the one to celebrate him. it was a feeling unknown to the skeletal monster, and it was proven just by him pulling up his hood to cover the features which only got hotter and hotter by the second, his free holding the plate with the cake he had been given.
