@jasonlee at the Münster Monster Mastership 1990. I went to a couple of these in Germany and they showed that Skateboarding was truly an international endeavor. I think the European Skate Camps and International Comps really helped spread skateboarding and got skaters traveling. It’s no big deal nowadays to fly into a foreign spot, shoot a video part, do a demo or just skate around and make new friends. So many of my friends today were made on trips oversees back then, we were each other’s guides on both sides of the planet. @tommyguerrero jumps a staple in street obstacles at the Capitola Classic Street Style Contest in 1985. It usually went something like this, Beater Skate Car donated as obstacle, Beater driven or towed on to course, more graffiti and stickers added to Beater, Contestants skate on or over Beater, contestants beat on car with skateboards and sledgehammers, skate enthusiasts have portraits taken in driver’s seat of Beater, Bright skater decides to set Beater on fire, Good Samaritan, Police or Environmentalist douse flames, Charred Beater is towed away into Skateboarding History.
