Winter had come early to the small city. Whether or not this was a blessing or a curse dependent upon who you asked. Some blamed it on climate change. But Skadi knew the truth. The cold weather and the wintery flurries were of her own creation-- some through anxiety, but others were simply for her own amusement.
She was here visiting her brother, Ix, and sister, Saryx. Often they were able to counter the worst of her wintery ways. Yet, this time they allowed her to have her fun. This was her season. Besides, they were simply happy to have her home-- away from her secluded castle which remained hidden away from the humans by the rockiness of the Norse mountains and a bit of magic.
For Skadi, though, it could be a bit daunting to come home. Surrounded by so many humans could make her intensely anxious. She was trying to overcome that anxiety.
So tonight she had made her way to the nearby park while the others were out. Saryx and Ix enjoyed going to the clubs-- in fact, they jointly owned one. However, it was not her scene. Instead she sat on the swing set. Her dark hair was decorated with tiny snowflakes. Unaware of being watched she had lifted her hand, playing with the snow as it fell-- manipulating it into dancing swirls and figures of dragons flying in the air. It brought a soft, sweet smile to her face.
