Graduation day! Congrats to my freckle face, who finished sixth grade at Castle Park Elementary after four years and a lot of growth and transition. Her amazing academic achievements, musical talent, and magnetic personality tell me maybe I'm not totally screwing this parenting thing up...love you forever, kiddo! 🖤 @joatwood #graduation #sixthgradenomore #castleparkelementary #sixthgradepromotion #freckleface #minime #proudmama #emokid #pflag #chulavista #futurejulliardstudent #wewearblack #nextstopmiddleschool (at Castle Park Elementary)
Emotional day. My baby completed Elementary School. Huge accomplishment, he hung in there day- after-day and didn't let his situation affect school. Today, I was proud to see him with his peers walk in and take his seat. The speeches began, we cried, we laughed and we waited to hug our kids. Then the Principal said there was awards to handout. As a parent you get ready to clap for your kids friends. I always do. Perfect attendance awards are first. Yeah, M never gets one. I then heard reading awards were next I geared up to clap for the recipients, but my kids name was called. I was so happy for him. Yay, M!! The next batch were from local organizations and Ms BFF got one so Yay! We clapped and yelled for him. After, the Principal goes on about the Presidential Awards. A letter is read from the White House, some of you know the drill. I was like wow, some parents are going to be super proud. I never imagined WE would be one of those parents. I cried. Yup, our little man shocked us. Proud parents. M is an example that hard work and dedication can help you get ahead. Now, on to Middle School. Let's see what that brings. #presidentialeducationaward #academicachievement #sixthgradepromotion #autism #type1diabetes
