#sixth scale figures

Every year I try to put together a custom action figure in time for May the Fourth (see: here for previous years). This year, I had high hopes of maybe even finishing multiple figures, but life got in the way. Thankfully, I did at least manage to complete and take pics of my custom upgrade of the official Hot Toys Clone Wars Anakin. There are still some minor tweaks I'd like to make in future, but I'm happy enough with him for now.....

The images on the left show the official Hot Toys figure without any modifications. The ones on the right are my customised version.

As you can see, there are multiple changes, but perhaps the most noticeable alteration is his hair.

I really wanted to be content with the official figure 'as-is', but the sculpted plastic hair that Hot Toys gave him was just so fugly it had to go. Not only was it rather awkwardly shaped, but it was also the wrong colour for TCW Anakin. Hopefully his new hair is at least a bit more recognisable.

I also repainted all of his faux leather accessories (boots, gloves, belt) to make them more screen accurate. The originals were too dark and too shiny, not nearly weathered enough for that typical ‘dusty’ TCW aesthetic.

I likewise added a tiny custom commlink to his gauntlet, since it's something he uses frequently in the series (and will hopefully come in handy for future photoshoots).

This figure is not even remotely all I've been working on lately, but it's the only new custom I had ready in time to post today. Hopefully I'll be able to share more soon... :)
