Hush Hush (Featuring Minhyuk)
“Come on, Eunbi! Bring us some water!” Jae, the leader of G.Sparkz, clapped her hands and threw a menacing glare at me but I just threw her a hatred look. I never liked her because ever since she became the leader of this group, she turned into a monster – always picking on me and pushing my buttons. And she thinks I can’t do anything about it? Tch, how delusional can she be?
“Yah, Eunbi! Didn’t you hear Jae unnie? She said to bring us some water!” Woo Ri, the main vocalist and the closest one to me, harshly tugged on my wrist and threw me a glare but I didn’t flinch. I wasn’t scared if I got scolded by all of my members – it’s nothing new anyway.
“Eunbi.” Jae unnie lowered her voice, giving me the signal that she’s starting to get pissed off by my attitude. I just let out a sigh and stood up; making sure that my wallet is in my pocket before I stomped out of the room, not until I heard Jae unnie mumbled to the others, “Tch, why is she the maknae again? She’s such a brat.”
Yeah, as if you’re perfect angel of the group.
I sighed as I tried to carry five water bottles but they kept on slipping in my arms. I let out a tired groan as I bent down to pick up a water bottle, not until a hand also reached out for it. I felt his fingers brushed against mine and I quickly snapped my head up to look at the intruder.
A smile appeared on his face as he handed me the water bottle but just when I was about to get it, he grabbed the three water bottles from me and flashed another smile.
Gosh, he’s adorable.
“Hey, you’re Eunbi, right? Jang Eunbi?”
“What?”
“You’re…Eunbi, right?” His voice dripped with concern and uncertainty and I felt my cheeks heat up due to embarrassment.
“Y-Yeah and you’re Minhyuk from BTOB, right?” “Correct!” He clapped his hands but then, the water bottles slipped from his hands and they tumbled on the floor, making me panic.
“Ah, sorry about that.” He scratched his head as he bent down to pick up the water bottles and I immediately bent down to help him. I felt his fingers brushed against mine and I held my hand back while I heard a chuckle escape past his lips.
We both stood up and I walked towards the practice room and he followed closely from behind. There was an awkward silence and I thought about what I should say but he beat me to it.
“So, how is G.Sparkz do-“ “Jang Eunbi! Where the heck are you?!” I heard Jae unnie shouted all the way from the practice room and I let out a frustrated groan as I grabbed the water bottles from him.
“Thank you so much.” I flashed him a smile and he froze in his spot but he returned the smile. He waved good bye and walked away while whistling a happy tune.
“Yah,” I turned around, only to see Woo Ri unnie looking at me with a raised eyebrow and a smirk drawn on her smirk. “Was that Minhyuk? Were you guys going on a date or something?”
“Shut up.”
“Let’s welcome the hottest girl group rookie, G.Sparkz!” Baekhyun sunbae shouted happily against the microphone and I just wanted to cover my ears at the loudness of his voice. The music started to play and we danced powerfully and sang sexily to the song. I was hidden in the back and just danced and sang in the chorus. The only solo part given to me is a one liner in the bridge and clearly, I was dissatisfied with it. But who am I to argue with the CEO of Cube Entertainment?
The song came into an end and we rushed down the stage, tired from the performance.
“Hey Eunbi!” I was suddenly engulfed in a tight hug and I realized the intruder was Minhyuk. I just let a laugh escape my lips before hugging him back.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Jae unnie rolled her eyes at the sight of us and pretended to gag, making the others laugh. I made a face at her and Woo Ri unnie giggled while she pinched my cheek.
“You girls were amazing!” Ilhoon came and clapped his hands excitedly, like a child waiting excitedly for his candy. We all laughed and thanked him respectfully, which he laughed it off.
I looked around that everyone is in the mood to celebrate for our debut.
Everyone else except me.
One thing was in my mind that completely bothered me once our manager first announced our debut parts and our individual parts.
When will I get many parts like my other members?
I sighed as our manager ranted his head off about my practice today. I wasn’t in the mood to be criticized today so while he was still talking, I abruptly stood up and walked out, knowing in the back of my mind that I’ll get my punishment by tomorrow.
I ran of the room and went straight to the rooftop, hoping I can calm down my feelings that are about to burst any second now.
This is all Jae unnie’s fault.
She looked down at me, even if I was her fellow member, and criticized every single mistake I made in the practice. She shouted at me and forced me to get the members’ snacks using my own money, which results to my hunger and loss of energy during each practice session.
What’s worse is that my other members won’t do anything and even encouraged Jae unnie to continue this stupid act. Even Woo Ri unnie can’t do anything and just threw sympathetic looks at my direction, which I would brush off every time.
If only they see my capabilities, this wouldn’t happen.
With a sigh, I finally concluded what I should do.
I looked around, making sure that no one else is around to see what I was doing, before I pushed the doors of the dance studio open. I turned on the lights and dropped my bag on the floor, admiring how spacey the room looks like without my fellow members.
I didn’t tell them I was going to head to the dance studio to practice so I’ll be able to gain more parts in the next album. I headed to the stereo, turned up the volume and before I knew it, my body was moving in sync with the music.
I didn’t care about anything else. All I want now is for them to notice my abilities, not just as the cutesy maknae and a good imitator of G.Sparkz, but someone who has powerful dance moves and mind-blowing singing skills.
Is it so wrong to dream like that?
Minhyuk’s P.O.V
My head was placed against the pillow and I was ready to sleep but somehow, the drowsiness I felt a while ago during practice wasn’t present anymore. And what’s worse is that the annoying ringtone of Ilhoon, which is A Pink’s ‘No No No.’
It’s not that I hate A Pink but Ilhoon claims that his ringtone is like that because he’s ‘supporting’ our sunbaes and he’s also ‘supporting’ his friends. Yeah, it’s pretty obvious that he’s a secret fanboy of them.
“Yah, idiot. Answer your phone!” I threw a pillow at him but he just groaned and shifted into another position, making me frustrated. I threw another pillow and this time, he woke up with a start.
“Where are the A Pink sunbaes? Weren’t they singing ‘No No No’ a while ago?” Seriously, this guy is so unpredictable.
“Your phone.” I said through gritted teeth. He looked at me with a confused expression before he snapped his fingers.
“Right! My phone!” He got his phone out of his pillow and looked at the recent message he got. His eyes got wide and he suddenly flailing his arms everywhere like a monkey hyperventilating.
“What is it?” My patience was running out and I tried my best not to pounce on Ilhoon and grab his phone. Oh wait, that sounds so wrong in so many ways.
“I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED MY A PINK SONG. WHY?!” I suddenly had the urge to strangle him when he suddenly laughed and said the real news to me.
“Haha, I’m just kidding. Eunbi has gone missing.” He said with a smile but it immediately faded when he saw my frustrated look.
“WHAT?!”
“Eunbi! Eunbi!” I ran around the Cube Entertainment building, hoping I’ll be able to see her walking around and not harmed or anything. But I’ve been walking around for 2 hours and still, no sign of her anywhere near. I felt my shoulders slumped in disappointment as I continued to walk around, hoping so hard that she’s fine.
Just then, I heard a loud music playing at the next room and the hope sparked inside of me. I immediately opened the door and found Eunbi tired as hell as she rested her head against the mirrored wall. I fastened my pace and held her face in my hands and wow, her skin is so smooth and flawless. I blinked a couple of times, trying to distract myself as she opened her eyes.
“M-Minhyuk?” She croaked out and I held her near my chest. I felt her heavy breathing and I let out a sigh of relief. At least, she’s alright now.
“Let’s go home. Everyone is worried about you.”
“No. I want to practice more.” I let out a sigh and tried to pull her towards me but she remained stubborn and firm. She stayed on the floor and shot me a glare but I didn’t bother to let go of her soon.
“Eunbi.”
“Don’t use that tone with me, Minhyuk.” She spat bitterly as she stood up and walked towards the stereo to repeat the music. I sighed and walked towards her, pulling her into a hug. Then, I noticed that her body was shaking because of the cold weather outside.
“Come on. The snow storm is getting stronger now. Please.” I begged and held her near me to keep her warm. She shook her head and I held her even nearer, my chin on top of her head and he head placed against my chest.
“What’s going on? You wouldn’t trouble yourself at this kind of time.” I asked weakly as I spun her around to see her reaction. She looked up at me and sighed before she placed her head against my chest.
“I’m…jealous.” I froze and looked at her in utter shock and confusion.
“What are you talking about?” I asked and she sighed once more.
“I’m jealous that my members get more parts, just because they trained longer than me. Everyone thinks I’m the cutesy maknae of G.Sparkz but they never saw me as someone who has powerful dancing skills and mind-blowing skills. Everyone thinks I’ve been put in the group, just because of my looks.” She let out a humorless laugh and she hugged me tightly so I won’t see her tears but I could feel them wetting my shirt.
I wrapped my arms around her and pressed a small kiss on top of her head.
“Look, don’t think that way. You guys are just newly debuted and you still have a lot of chances to prove your talents. Who knows, you might get a solo song in the near future. Don’t punish yourself too much and don’t compare yourself to your members because you know what? You stand out in other people’s eyes, including mine.” Since the first time that day, she looked up and showed me a small smile.
“Really?” “Really.” I pecked her forehead and held her near me, our breathing was in sync.
“Thank you. Like a lot.” I let a chuckle escape my lips and hugged her near me. We let the silence take over before I pulled away; a smile on my lips. I grabbed her hand and entwined our fingers, making her blush. I leaned in and pressed a kiss on her cheek before pulling her with me.
“Let’s go home.” I smiled at her and she nodded her head, her face burning. I smiled and gave her a quick hug before we went out of the practice room.
