Awhile ago, he might not have really planned something like this on his own. But it was an idea... And with his best friend’s help, it was put together.. Hell, with his best friend’s help the guests of honor would at least show up. The perfect bait to lure in a beast.

Maybe that was going too far. Yamato Hotsuin wasn’t exactly a beast, right?

Of course not! Yamato was his friend. So he didn’t mind setting this all up. A cake... Minor decorating. Party hats for the fun of it. Just a small set up! All that was left was to invite the guest of honor.. Guests? There were two Hotsuins listed in his contacts.. But he was unsure why. He didn’t recognize the second name. Miyako? But he sent the message to her too anyway.. Subtly mentioning that Hibiki was there too, of course. Messages sent? Aaand.. With that out of the way...

“Hibiki--? Hibiki, what are you?!” 

“Dude, the cake is for later!”

All they had to do was wait.

His COMP was destroyed and broken, but he still had his phone, despite rarely using it. Putting in a code for no return messages, there was something he needed to do, as he looked up at the building before him.

To: Takatora I don’t think I’ll be returning home after all this is done and over with. I’ll let you know where I go, but I need to leave for some time. I can’t expect to live normally right after all myself and my alternate has done. Take care of yourself Takatora. Don’t do anything too stupid while I’m away.

To: Hibiki I’m sorry you had to return to the hell of Demons because of me. But I’m confident you’re doing fine to survive. I’m going to end it. I’m not going to let you and everyone else suffer because of my power again. Keep fighting Hibiki. I know you can survive through this.

To Argilla I’ll have to ask you later if the armies of Demons that came through is like what you went through. You’re still a very big mystery to me honestly. It’s nice to have something to be confused over though. How about we meet up again and swap stories after this? I know you’re one of the most fit to be fine through all this, but still. Keep safe Argilla.

To: Agnes ............ I’m sorry. For everything.

To: Naoya Hah. I don’t even know why I’m sending this. You probably don’t even have access yet. And you’ve probably known for as long as I have what I’m going to do. God’s curse is looking pretty good through all this. I’m glad you’re here Naoya. It makes what I have to do much easier for some reason.

Both relief and determination were heard in the alternate’s voice. A mirror image of the Daichi Shijima from the original Hive City... The differences being the lack of the familiar scarf around his neck replaced with the yellow of the JPs uniform. Something strange to see Daichi actually wearing at least... 

It was also the first sign that this wasn’t the Daichi that Hibiki was currently familiar with.

Joined by two demons, this Daichi made his way over to his friend.

Contemplating humanity’s natural morality and indulging in take-out food are my favourite pastimes—  

The city reminded him alot of Tokyo. And of course, with the apparent containment of the people, it reminded him of the lockdown. Those 7 days of confinement, of danger, of death. Luckily, it was very clearly not the same. A few people here and there displayed a Death Clock, but it was far removed from the ever lowering countdown of that time. The feeling as well was different. There was not an air of oppression, nor was the feeling of Demons flooding the area.

Until of course he passed by another boy in a rather strange outfit (not that he was one to talk with his cape on) passed him. It was significantly less than it had been then. But Kazuya was the King of Bel.  He would feel the presence of Demons no matter how small. More out of curiosity than malice, Kazuya grabbed the arm of the boy, and to avoid a panic with his words, pulled himself and the other into an alley.
