Who remembers our sucker case, Granny? We were able to take Granny in the nick of time (in fact, the fantastic people who rescued her gave her extra time to find a foster home). This lovely old lady is at least 10 years old, came in heartworm positive, along with terrible skin issues, and all of the lumps and bumps that come with advanced age. Unfortunately, Granny Bertie has several conditions that while they do not currently cause her pain or discomfort, have made her a hospice dog. Now that our terrific vets have dealt with the health concerns that could be managed, we were content to let her spend the rest of her time napping by the fire. But I think she had other plans: Granny Bertie has taken to therapy work as if she was made for it ♥️♥️♥️. Last week, she finished up her hours for therapy dog work! One of her rescuers told us it's as if Granny is Cinderella...if Cinderella was a tough ol' ex-stray pittie who spent her sunset years bringing joy and gettin' pets instead of marrying some dude she had only met once at a dance 😂. Not only will Granny be joining our Therapy Team Program, but she will be working at the PUPCORN AND A MOVIE EVENT!!!! She will be available to cuddle during the movie as one our Santa's Little Helpers. Her ticket will be auctioned at the event, so you'll need to purchase a base ticket and then plan to bid for her at the movie. Good thing it's for a good cause, because were not really sure who will enjoy the movie and cuddle more- Granny Bertie or her movie buddy! #rescueworks #SITtherapyprogram #zerotohero #olddognewtricks #nevertoooldtomakeadifference #ageisjustanumber #goodgirl #cookieswithgrannybertie #sitservicedogs https://www.instagram.com/p/B4f9VFXH4dS/?igshid=1qwxba7x2tbbb
