when i’ve said before that it wasn’t even supposed to be the story that it is, that it was born of me thinking i’d write this little magical realism meet cute one shot (actually initially it was set in fucking salem and not london but that’s a whole other tangent i could go on) i really wasn’t joking. i had nooooo idea that the story would take such a hold on me and i had no idea i’d fall so thoroughly in love with it and i had nooooo idea it would capture so many other people too <3 so i just wanted to say thank you, really, for reading my things and sticking around since then. i know IM isn’t like, my first fic or anything but it was really the first time more than a handful of people were so openly passionate to me about something ive written and that’s just... it means the world really <3 

and i know i know i knoooooooow im soooooooooooorry about the whole infrequent updates thing but hey i was basically raised by danisnotonfire so what do u expect from me? hahah jokes, but really i am too passionate about Impractical Magic and if you’ve been around you probably know that the whole pandemic/losing my jobs thing really just broke the ease i used to have writing it. like i literally would come home from work every day, have dinner, vibe in front of the tv for a bit, and then somewhere between like midnight and 4 am i would just ZONE the fuck in on writing it at such a rapid pace that i cant even IMAGINE having now. i think the routine disruption REALLY fucked with me hard and honestly? at this point i’m just afraid to get back into it because part of my brain has convinced me i could never write as well as i did then because Impractical Magic just... requires that magic to really work.
