Some small detailed paintings I did using the leaves from my chosen site as a reference.
I ran out of brown paint so for the bigger leaf the stem? Part of it is left white. I'm not too bothered about this as it helps the stem detail stand out more.
University project (site)
Heat design leaf press
Found some leaves in the site area I'm working with and I thought they'd be great for using with a heatpress.
I used both the negative and the positive of the leaves so some are more detailed where as others the colour is around the leaf. I think I messed up a bit on the negative orange and brown leaf print as I forgot which side I painted so at first I did the wrong side then I used the correct side. I think the rest turned out alright.
Site project collage
I created some collages using found objects in my chosen site, I found a mixture of manmade objects and natural found objects. I chose to do them on cardboard because I thought it would be more sturdy and it would make it look better.
I found fabric, leaves, sticks, wrappers from what looked like sweets or chocolate I also found this plastic thing looked like a sponge but it was covered it dirt at the time after cleaning with gloves on I placed it on 2 of the collages.
Forest inspired banner
Step by step photos of my forest banner. I created this with the site project location in mind. I created it in the garden but I used photographs of the forest as inspiration. The fabric was just too big to create in the forest as it took multiple days.
It has a mixture of greens, black, brown and a hint of pink, you cant really see the pink as it's really subtle.
This is the final outcome, I'm happy with the colours and tones. It's quite a big piece bit longer than you see I had to fold it about two - three times in order to mount it on the wall. It's a landscape piece of the forest I'm working with but instead of details you just get the colours.
It's sort of like if you wore glasses and you removed them the colours that you would be able to see would be blurred but they'd stand out. This is the appearance I was going for.

Owl design
I found and took some photos which I then created this painting from, my first attempt at painting a barn owl so I'm not sure how well it turned out. I still have to add annotations to my sketchbook.
Plant sketches
I went out into my site location and drew a few objects I found. The bottom design was from plants I used to see in the forest, they are no longer there but I thought I should still add them as if it is a memory of what was.
Fox sketch
I created this from a photo found online I was testing pencil as the media. I think it could be changed by the weather but it wouldn't do much apart from grey streaks.
I might test this with a smaller design just to see how it changes before considering this media as a choice for the final piece.
