Site Feature: Event Horizon

Genre: Supernatural Animanga/Pokemon Longevity: over 1 year

First Impression: From first glance, the look and feel of Event Horizon is refreshing—not your standard when it comes to Jcink sites. There are interesting graphical elements, and the plot itself is one we personally haven’t seen!

Content: The written content is interesting as well being well structured and well-written. The angle of the site plot is clear and details a compelling setting. Many of the sections, especially Shifters, are straight-forward and informative, stressing the need-to-know facts and making it easy to sift through without taking too much time/effort. The organization is also very neat and orderly with information spread out over different posts within the same thread. The site might benefit from adding quick links in the first/top post so people can easily navigate to subsequent individual posts, but besides that, everything reads well and paints a lovely picture!

Graphics: The site’s images are very colorful yet slightly muted—calming and very laid back. The patterns and embellishments across the forum add a unique touch and act as defining/distinguishing elements. The graphics are definitely in keeping with the Animanga feel with the site’s elaborate and eye-catching header.

Coding:  The coding is very straight forward and clean, which we love! Everything is intuitive and laid out in a logical way while being legible and easy to navigate. The only advice we can give is that text against the circular/wave-like pattern is slightly difficult to read in the custom profiles. Otherwise, the site discord is very well integrated which can be hard to do, and everything is very easy on the eyes!

From it’s frequent banner/color changes to the small details that make the site unique, we can tell there’s a lot of creative time and love that goes into Event Horizon and its upkeep. The plot is also not one we commonly see among Pokemon sites, so definitely give this one a go!

Site Feature: Driving Towards Death

Genre: Supernatural Longevity: 7 months

First Impression: Supernatural is actually one of our favorite genres, and Driving Towards Death is no exception to the rule. From the get go, the premise is easy to surmise—as are the conveniently positioned plot updates, which is incredibly clever. 

Content: The plot offers very unique elements we don’t often see—wider, governmental control as well as hunters, creating multiple layers of conflict. The rules are categorized intelligibly, as well as the member groups. The tabbed layout really offers easy navigation through a very deep pool of species options. There also isn’t an overabundance of information to read, keeping things succinct and simple to wrap your head around.  

Overall, there are so many creative and interesting things that Driving Towards Death offers from their in-character town calendar to a Google Map that outlines its detailed layout. It feels immersive and very real while maintaining that supernatural aesthetic and tone!
