Always with the running, that was her usual set of mine. But there was not an awful lot to run from here, it was a small planet, she had known that when she arrived. And she had also known it wasn't very populated, and it did not get a lot of visitors, and even then most visitors stayed in the bars or something. She had hoped to find some previously undiscovered site of beauty, and she had been disappointed. Still she might meet some interesting people, or that was what she hoped when she walked inside one of the bars, last time she had done this, a good seventy five years ago, the events certainly had been interesting, just not exactly something she had been eager to repeat.

Weeks, maybe even months had passed since Jack and Ianto had met, since they'd started their affair, secret meetings in alleys, secret rendezvous in each others homes, nights spent memorizing every inch of each others bodies. That's what brought them here. Ianto with his hands on his lovers chest, working to get themselves over that final ledge, in just a few moments more it happened, the Welshman crying out Jack's name as the two fell over into the bliss of a night well spent. Ianto shifted off of the other, curled into his side, whispering 'I love you.', staying awake just long enough to hear the reply before he fell asleep. In the morning, he awoke before Jack and slipped out of bed, downstairs so he could fix them breakfast and coffee, while he was in the kitchen, a knock came on the door and he headed over -- clad in just his pants -- to answer it.   An envelope was handed to him and he blinked, watched the kid hurry off before he shut the door and ripped the envelope open, pulling out the letter to read it. A few minutes of staring at it and he still couldn't believe it, it was a draft letter, letting him know that the next day he would be sent out into the war.. Great.
