Good catch! Might be doable then, especially given they have +5 str. Ephraim Emblem, honk honk!
Well prepromotes are generally good enough to beat the game with (and traditionally exists as insurance in case you get a lot of people killed), so in this case the hardest bit would probably be getting far enough to start recruiting them using just the Jeigan. (Especially counting dancers as unpromoted...) Depends a bit on the game too - Marcus would definitely struggle in FE6, probably quite a bit in FE7 too although itād be easier. But if you make it to Isadora/Hawkeye/Pent/Louise youāre probably fine? And Athos can kill the boss. I wouldnāt even try it with the OG Jeigan in FE1, heās so bad.

Claude's route, it's stated pretty much outright that without Byleth, Claude's scheming crumbled, somehow. People still call him "Master Tactician" but he can't seem to get an edge over the enemy without Byleth. So yeah, I think all three Lords get that treatment one way or another.
Ehhh, I donāt know...? That sounds much more focused on Byleth as a military factor. If that were the way they did it in Edelgardās route I could accept since I already know theyāre gonna shill Byleth as some critical part of the war for no reason, but in Elās case itās really more like... she canāt go on without you, her heart breaks every day knowing youāre not with her. itās not that i expected her to be successful without byleth, i was just hoping she could exist independently as an adult like claude did, without having to be told she yearned for byleth every morning or whatever the fuck
dimitri obviously is a therapy case, but like, i donāt now if i can consider his situation equal. he probably thinks heās alright and doesnāt want any help. it feels different in some way.

Spring Alfonse isn't much to worry about. There are much better Axe Cavs, and Spring Chrom looks like way more fun. Only go after Spring Alfonse if you're really committed to Alfonse as a character, cuz he's boring and underpowered otherwise.
:( i just like bunnies
i donāt use a lot of units, cause i try to build and merge the ones i use (and i move. very slowly. iām still working on merging eirika, even though sheās not in my core team anymore, thatās how slo i go) but like
i love....the bunnies

@kixboxer: eITHER WAY, itās not ???? like other people donāt do this during down-time/lunch break too ??? Iām not special lol. also, Iāve written snippets of fic/dialogue during breaks, but no, I donāt think Iāve ever written *THAT* at work....
might have posted it to the kinkmeme when I reached the lab early though, because no one was around, so there !
@sirbartonslady: but what is the REAL TRUTH though, no one knows~
With all the salt in the fandom right now over Fire Emblem Warriors, I wanted to ask you guys, are you excited for the game? I know I am - I'm buying a Switch specifically so I can play the game in its full glory (Cuz I expect the 3DS version to have inferior graphics/framerate issues compared to the Switch version) So tell me, Silas and/or Brady, are you as excited as I am for the new game next month?
So, my perspective (Silas):
Prior to Hyrule Warriors, I had never played a Dynasty Warriors game.Ā I had no idea what to expect, and it wasĀ āout of my genreā -- I donāt go around looking for hack-and-slash games -- but it was a crossover and I bought it on good faith.
And I loved it.
Not in the sense that it made me want to play every other DW game in existence, but in the sense that I had an unexpectedly high amount of fun in playing the game.Ā It was a pleasure to get new characters, and find new weapons, and learn how to use those weapons for things like crowd control vs. safety vs. single-target bruising.Ā In particular, I enjoyed Impa, Darunia, and Young Link, just for overall feel and style.Ā And I was altogether surprised by some of the character choices (like the King of Red Lions, of all people), which was incredible because it showed a lot of the depth you could achieve when you pull out all the stops and just let characters fall into their niches.
When I looked at Fire Emblem Warriors, I never once wentĀ āX character needs to get in or I wonāt buy itā.Ā I did think that some characters from FE lore deserved fair consideration because of what they could bring to the table, in particular shifters (laguz, taguel) and Xane (becauseĀ āI use a highlight reel of all the charactersā movesā would be incredible).Ā But ultimately I was hoping mainly for disparate experiences between characters, so that there would be a high chance of being able to find somebody I enjoy playing, just like HW.
So much in games is cosmetic.Ā I personally run Yoshi / Bowser Jr. in MK:DD because I think their specials / size are optimal for how I play, but it didnāt have to be Yoshi that had the homing item bomb or B Jr. who had a giant spinning death wall.Ā They could have just as easily been no-name characters or indie-style generics.Ā Or those items could have been reskinned and given to other characters.Ā Itās a crossover game.Ā The characters are mostly there as a proxy for the things the crossover wanted to achieve (like how Smash would have been Smash {albeit very different in aesthetic and most likely appeal} had it never used Nintendo characters).Ā Basically, my point is that the visuals are just kinda grafted in anyways, and the meat and potatoes is what you do and how it feels.
In the meat and potatoes, I see a lot of potential.Ā Maybe I would have personally preferred, say, Seth over Xander in terms of horse units.Ā But when Iām watching the character reveal and gameplay videos, I still see characters with broad sweeping attacks, and large disjoints, and mounts, and quick movement, and thrusts, and so on.Ā I see all the variety there that I came to appreciate in the Hyrule variant, complaints about Agithaās utility notwithstanding.Ā AndĀ I can see the evidence of improvements in the clean interface and ability to jump between characters mid-map.Ā FEWĀ is probably going to be a better game than HW, and I think that alone is enough to seriously consider it (he says, having put multiple hundreds of hours into completing HWās DLC maps).
And knowingĀ that a lot of the differences between characters in FE games are largely cosmetic anyways (i.e., all Archers are mostlyĀ the same, functionally), I still have hopes that the other representation that fans so hope for can be achieved by skins and alternate outfits even if the character is still technically whatever DS-family character you think is oh-so-inferior to previous iterations of that class archetype.
Probably a lot of people are going to read this and goĀ āeheh, sure Silas, BUTĀ this is why you still shouldnāt like it...āĀ Yeah, whatever, they can be salty in their little corner.Ā I donāt give a ratās fart what they think.Ā Iām gonna play as Celica-pseudo-Zelda-AKA-Best-Girl and Iām gonna have a grand time.Ā If FEW is a good, well-received game, maybe FEW 2, conveniently timed to release right after [insert any FE game from 4 to 10 here] HD Remake, itāll have all those characters from your favorite that you really care about.
Maybe Iām being willingly blind, maybe I just grew up to the point where I let myself enjoy things regardless of [X trivial factor].Ā Either way, you canāt kill my hype.
-Silas

Just wanna point out, Fire Emblem was dead without Awakening. Love it or hate it, Awakening literally fucking SAVED the entire franchise. The franchise was due to be executed due to low sales, but Awakening changed all that.
To give a little bit of context, the ask was referring toĀ this post. You can read there that I do acknowledge the importance of Awakening in the whole series and for what it is, itās a good and enjoyable game (I didnāt spend 100+ hours in the game doing nothing after all). But, and this is what I feel that people forget, being important doesnāt mean itās flawless and Awakening has its flaws, just like any other Fire Emblem games and it shouldnāt be overlooked because it saved the series. Awakening has done its job, which weāre all grateful for, and now itās time to see/discuss/hope what IntSys could do better in the next games. As a fan, I want this IntSys to learn from the flaws of the past games and improve themselves to make the next game an even more fun one.Ā
