TCW 2008 is such a frustrating piece of media. It expands the Star Wars universe in some brilliant ways and gave us some of my favorite characters in the entire franchise, but even when it comes to those characters, it often fails to stick its landings, and with hindsight from the nearly two decades of Filoniverse material we have now, it's hard not to see a lot of the cracks in his showrunning showing up even then. And of course there's the matter of its very different characterization for some of the most important characters in the prequels (*cough* Anakin *cough*) and how that characterization has overtaken their much more nuanced Lucas-written selves in a lot of fans' minds. It's definitely worth remembering that the show came out at the height of anti-prequel sentiment and that definitely affected its writing in ways that feel a lot more detrimental now that more people have realized that the prequels were actually really fucking good.
