I'm not sure how your academic system works for these things, but if the first couple of years of requirements are the same, could you swap back out of the nanoscience track to a general science one, if you decided later that it wasn't for you? Or are you just really and truly locked in? That's a tough one, but so cool that it's something that you'd easily qualify for! Good luck!
Tbh, Iâm not entirely sure how transferring between works except that you canât transfer into something that you didnât have the grades for and that there is a cutoff point fairly early on (like possibly the first week of classes?) for leaving a degree without penalty if you arrive and realise you hate it.Â
I have been told that the theoretical physics people have the option of transferring into mathematics or general science (to do either physics or physics and astrophysics--you wouldnât be able to up and do zoology or something) so it would seem to make sense that youâd be allowed to transfer into general science from nanoscience, but things making sense by no means is a guarantee that thatâs how it is. :(

Yeah itâs just like... I feel like the wildest I dare to dream is that cis people wonât take every single opportunity to be transphobic and yet thatâs still too much?? I expected it, because it came up when we did the survey and my tutor said weâd âdiscussâ it as an example of how people could take issue with how statistical information was collected. Â But like... just let me fucking live. I already am resigned to never coming out, never having a partner who I can reliably expect not to misgender me, never feeling comfortable with most people I meet my whole life. Isnât that enough? Canât I just hide in fucking peace?Â
