Today we have computers that can simulate air bubbles rising in water. But 500 years ago, Leonardo da Vinci studied motion of air bubbles in water and found that: “The air that submerged itself with the water… returns to the air, penetrating the water in sinuous movement, changing its substance into a great number of forms… it never spreads itself out from its path except to the extent to which it avoids the water which covers it”

Simulation of an Air Flow around an Ellipse !!

Air flow around an ellipse simulated with OpenFOAM. pimpleFoam is used for computation. For turbulence, kkL Omega (RANS) model is used.

“ SpaceX Interplanetary Transport System Simulation “

The Interplanetary Transport System (ITS),also known as the Mars Colonial Transporter (MCT) . It is  a complex system of spaceflight technology and human settlements on Mars.  It is comparatively larger in size than Big Falcon Rocket. 

This steady-state simulation shows aerodynamics of ITS using ANSYS CFX. Simulation files are available for download and modifications. Interplanetary Transport System original CAD model by Kris.

Ocean waves with floating “A380″ are simulated using Blender's ocean simulation tool called “Ocean Modifier”.

Ocean modifier is used to simulate deforming ocean surface, and associated texture, used to render the simulation data. It is meant to simulate deep ocean waves and foam. Source simulation files are also attached. Original Airbus A380 CAD model by Kai-Chin Shih.
