My BACC is not going to be exactly the same because I don't want my Sims to start in the politics career. They are going to a new land like explorers lol that really has no one, townies that might show up are tourists exploring what they heard could be a promising new destination for investment or a change in pace. With everything going on in America and canada this just seems fitting. I just saw there is land still for sale in both countries and I thought the person who buys land is not into politics but an adventurer. Thinking about the gold rush those people were adventurers and business minded people. So my founders are farmers, miners business minded doctors and nurses to lend support because traveling to a desolate land would be treacherous medical intervention would be necessary while farming and mining. Since this is not going to be post apocalyptic and the founders would be graduate and post graduate students they will be fleshed out with skills and badges randomly given and adjusted to match my micro management style. Colleges and cars are available just not electricity and water. I have thought about moving to a location and building my own off grid homestead so they can do the same thing and build a city size commune/settlement, I guess. I was thinking early exploration with out the genocide. So adventurer is the first job available as they gather materials the science and natural science careers can be unlocked but not at level one but at the level needed by using the simblender or manipulator. I have never used the sim manipulator I will have to see which is faster.
🤣 might just change it in simple.
Only thing not available is electricity, water, gas, internet, and public transportation.
Once materials are gathered and houses are built new people can move in when there is food surplus people can move in. Since the parcels of land don't technically have addresses or on gps deliveries can't be made.
Honestly who has gone camping and got food delivered to your tent and not the parking lot or the main entrance of a glamping site?
I will pool a couple of scenarios together, the free state project in New Hampshire with the ghost towns being advertised for low prices to investor groups and individuals squatting taking their time as opposed to investor having a time frame (I researched 6-18 months max to develop the land for investors but individuals can take as long as they like but no outside help).
So a single person saw an ad for land and recruited some specialized friends to help establish their own settlement all they have to do is pay taxes to the state after they reach a population of 5000 people. At that point they are required to provide health care.
This is just an idea as I have not played through this yet as inam cobbling things together.
This is the first time I try a build a city challenge. I have read and watched a lot of this challenge journeys throughout many other players youtube channels, tumblrs and livejournals and was dying to try it. Now I finally gathered the energy to do it and I'm treating it as a bit of a creative outlet during my spare time. I created the terrain on sc4 and pookleted the settlers. I will also try to build everything, so let's see for how long I can keep this up lol. The set of rules I'll be using is a mix of Didly's, Katatty's, DeeDee's and MarmitePrinter's, in other words, a big mess of rules copied and pasted into a Word document. But all in a very loose way and always open to tweaking, so it's fun and makes sense to me. Also, English isn't my first language so please forgive any mishaps :)
All the way across from SimNation, far from the big city and between rocky green mountains, an old abandoned village which sprung many many years ago at the margins of silvery tides gets its train reactivated... now, sims can discover a beautiful land surrounded by forests and beaches and its neighboring island. Who will be brave enough to explore this far away land and turn it into a gorgeous thriving town?
A few things about how i play my game and some tweaks I've made to the rules:
1. My lifespan consists of each 1.5 sim days = 1 year (except for college, which is 2 sim days = 1 term, but I doubt I'll be playing college anytime soon), so it is long but I like to take things slow and love to play teens and children but do not like when their parents age unrealistically soon so this was the best solution for me.
2. My seasons last 7 days and I play rotations of 4 then 3 days, so its monday through thursday then friday through sunday.
3. I didn't like the "you can only sell stuff you craft because there's no way to stuff to get to the town" rule because the starting point of Moonlight Shore will be precisely the reactivation of a train line. Therefore I decided that the train arrives in the city once a week (monday, problably!) and that will be the frequency that the stores in the city that sells non-craftable items will be able to restock their items. Also, the type of items sold in the beginning rounds will be, like, "essentials", such as personal hygiene stuff, processed food, cleaning supplies and, during the first gameplay I figured that hobby objects would be cool to sell as well since they're kind of essential in a gameplay matter and it's just fun to have a Sim go out and shop for hobby supplies like I do in real life. I also decided to extend this rule to how many times a week residents can purchase items from the catalog and that's it, makes sense to me. Once downtown is unlocked this rule will be lifted.
4. I will try to use Beth's tax system that she shared on her discord server, but it is a bit complex so maybe I'll change it along the way. Already gave up lol I'm using Kattaty's method. Might make it a little bit more complex in the future.
I guess that's it. Good luck to me :)
Even for a knowledge sim, Bree had an almost scary speed at which she learned new things.
Of course having a roommate that knew a thing or two about working out also helped.
Rotation 3 Recap - Spring, 1901
The residents of New Stallwick experienced an explosion of growth with Spring bringing plenty of new babies.
There were no marriages, deaths, or moves.
There were 16 children born in Spring: Thomas & Edward Carrington (twins), Mary Carrington, Christopher & Andrew & Francis Eastey (triplets), George Sellar, Samuel & Anthony & Nathan Thornton (triplets), Emile & Anna & Thomas Delvaux (triplets), Remy Delvaux, Mark Dye, & Jeffrey Black.
The summer will probably see several teenagers emerging, and with any luck, the University should be built. New families are also going to be moving into New Stallwick soon.

Barbara continued attempting to adopt Moonshine, the kitty cat. On Sunday she and her brother aged up, she into a Teen with the Knowledge aspiration, and he into a little toddler.
On Thursday Pamela made a friend in a very high place, the Mayor's wife. Marie was such an influential woman that she could be considered powerful in her own right.
Pamela's pregnancy progressed right along with the Black family living a rather calm life. She delivered a healthy boy on Wednesday night that was named Jeffrey Black.
