A gang of kids from South London defend their housing complex from aliens. Aside from knowing it was about an alien invasion I had little to no expectations (i may actually have thought it would be like The Watch? why? because Richard Ayoade is also British? idk. anyway...) I really liked it. from the perception of the kids in the beginning (from stills i didn't realize they'd be that young) to what we, the audience along with Sam the nurse, learn about them over the course of the film....oh lawd...kids with little to no active adult supervision (except for the local drug dealers and the nurse they accidently jump, not knowing she's actually a neighbor) defending themselves and their home from some freaky scary aliens. (were i in the same position, i'd probably have shit myself and gotten killed.) what they learn about each other (the kids and Sam) and their theories about the aliens - pretty cool. and the soundtrack - way to go Brewis...the slang....i wanna be british. it looked like Pest's bite had some or was supposed to have some bone included, but i could be wrong. Mayhem and Probs - hahaaa but also aww damn the latchkey kids. The aliens were scary, like the wheelers from return to oz had children with the gorillas from congo, without eyes and those teeth...Nice job on your first feature, Joe! #ssmovieof2016 #action #comedy #scifi #aliens #invasion #JohnBoyega #JodieWhittaker #AlexEsmail #LeeonJones #SimonHoward #FranzDrameh #SammyWilliams #MichaelAjao #LukeTreadaway #NickFrost #JumaynHunter #SelomAwadzi written and directed by #JoeCornish movie of 2016 number 14) #AttacktheBlock
