You only knew this now????? I thought it was obvious. But the thing isā and I really donāt think this otome game is aware of thisā Simon is selfish.
No matter how āselflessā his actions were, he thinks heās doing it for her sake but heās disregarding how she feels about it. First of all, she never wanted to do the whole record deal thing all by herself. She was angry because sheād prefer to stay with him even if sheās āthrowing away her opportunity to shine with all the other starsā. Whatās the point when youāre not truly happy?
Oh but the game is like no, no obviously sheās happy to aim higher once she left him (he told her to take the record deal without him, that idiot) but sheās got a hole in her heart boo fucking hoo š¢ leaving him and ending their partnership makes me miss the times where I only sang at a bar!
And what the hell was that scene where they were reunited after several months of not seeing each other? He provokes her when she was clearly upset and angry, confesses his feelings for her, and then the game wraps it all up by having sex. And now theyāre just happy again??? How shallow is that??? This is too neatly tied. Their relationship should be strained right now. That pent-up frustration turned into sexā no, that should have been treated as a mistake. Things canāt be forgiven that easily. Itās so unrealistic...
Normally I donāt really care about realism in an otome where fantasies are made for readers to live a more whimsical life. Magical vampire potions that turns you to an enhanced killing machine? Alright. Time traveling worm hole? Sure! Unexplained amnesia caused by an alien force? Dolls turning into real life people? Auctioned off to some bad boy millionaire? Okay.
But thereās a certain disconnect when characters donāt react to things the way people normally do... and when that happens, you get pulled from the story. :T
This new problem with MC losing her singing voice due to stress is just so fucking trite, I canāt take the rest of Simonās route seriously anymore.
