Love Tangle might be winding down to a finish, but I recently completed Ryanâs Important Choice, so gonna post my thoughts on that.
As a note, I did Ryanâs sequel between reading other stories whenever I had the spare gems to pass the checkpoints, so not all of it is recent in my mind. I did the bartender ending first (a while ago) and the film director ending second.
This is quite an old(ish) event now, but I did it soon after Together with Timo and while Iâve yet to do Nolanâs sequel, the two that Iâve played so far have been fairly similar. This isnât a bad thing. You completed your romance with these guys and you want to see your happy ending. Thatâs what these deliver. The big difference is that Timoâs opens with your engagement and the rest of the story is your lives after that, whereas in Ryanâs it builds up to the engagement happening at the end (no matter which ending you choose).
Something that Ryanâs sequel offers that the others donât is the ability to choose between two different endings where Ryan follows one of his two careers. I like this and wouldâve liked to have seen it in other sequels if weâd gotten any (okay so pretty much just for Noaki, letâs be honest).
The main story is focused on Ryan struggling to balance his two jobs while Julia worries about him and ends with him picking between the jobs, which you as the player get to do for him. I went into the story expecting that theyâd play up the film director route as the ârightâ choice, but actually they didnât. They showed some good reasons why Ryan also loves his job as a bartender and would like to keep doing that. To the point that I ended up picking the bartender ending first.
No matter which ending you pick, you do get to see Ryan wave goodbye to his other job. In the bartender ending, Ryanâs final film does get produced and in the film director ending, you get to see Ryanâs have one final night as a bartender before he gives it up. The difference is that in the bartender ending you get to learn a bit more of the backstory that inspired Ryan to become a bartender and in the film director ending you get more focus on Cody being in the movie that Ryan directed.
Beyond that, I donât have much to say about this sequel. Itâs nice and Ryanâs nice. If you like him, then youâll probably enjoy it.
