A couple of weeks ago I think I saw a post on my dash about a game mod that changes the way inactive sims show up on community lots. I’m assuming, that this mod stops them from running and instead has them walk up to the lot.

Does anyone know the name of the mod I’m talking about? Do you have a link to this mod or know of a mod that changes the way inactive sims approach community lots when your active sim shows up there?

I got the news last week that my SSI payments will be continuing, and while I kind of thought that would turn into me practically simming all day long, the relief caused me to crash, and I’ve basically been vegging out and watching anime instead. 

I’m super tired. 

It’s basically been one thing after another for a little over a year on top of the pandemic. 

Next priority, is to find a new place to live. Been looking for quite sometime, but paused when the review started.

This time has been quite stressful but the regular engagement I get from my mutuals has really helped to lift my spirits. I want to thank everyone following, and those of you who liked and commented. I was especially blown away by the responses to the houseboat posts. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten that many comments before.

Also, while I was dealing with real life I managed to reach 101 followers. Welcome newbies! I hope you enjoy my gameplay shots!

So I was totally going to enter live mode in Isla Paradiso.

I know anyone who has been following this unnecessary anxiety saga is thinking:

Anyways, I was waiting for the game to load up, thinking about what exactly I would have Conquer and Neji do on their first day of vacation, and then I remembered that I didn’t make the open air market. I only have it and one other restaurant and then I’m pretty much done (though as I’m writing this, I’m thinking of adding a skating ring to the Ruins...). But I go, that’s cool, I can just wait to make the market when I need to use it, like I plan to do for the restaurant, but then I remembered something else. 

I set up Cruzita’s so that it would sale everything but fresh fruits and vegetables because they were my sole reason for wanting an open air market in the first place, because tropical Islands are synonymous with fruit stalls in my mind. And in addition to having that mod where you can’t buy from the fridge I have the mod that requires ingredients for cooking stuff.

So I spent part of yesterday setting up the market, because, once again, Conquer has no food in his fridge, and needs to go shopping to get that. I could totally have him eat in one of the eateries, but I honestly don’t expect those to run well until like day 2 or 3 (and let’s be honest, it’s the sims, so even then....).

I used NRAAS' Master Controller. Among the bunch of things you can do with it, the mod let's you click on any sim and edit them in Create-a-Sim.

I'm not in my game right now, but I think the pathway you use after clicking on a sim is NRAAS > Master Controller > Advanced > Edit in CAS.

Sometimes I also switched to a different household before using the above method, that way I could edit multiple sims in a household. I used Master Controller for that too.

With Testingcheatsenabled on, left click on a sim to switch to that sim's household. Then enter CAS (I of course used MC to get there), edit your sim, go back to live mode, locate a member of your original active household and left click to return to their household again.

I entered live mode in TS3 to do some play testing and am now back to being excited to enter the game. Haven’t been able to make as much progress as I would have liked, as I’ve been juggling lots of adult stuff.

During testing I had a couple “oh: moments. 

First, you can’t get a mod to work in your game if you haven’t actually downloaded the mod yet, lol.

For a couple of weeks now I’ve been trying to figure out why I couldn’t get Arsil’s Professional Massage Table to spawn masseuses. I went back and forth between the description page, then checked NRAAS boards, then got the notion to check to see if it was actually in my mods folder. Turns out, it wasn’t even on my computer or external drive. I never downloaded the mod, only @aroundthesims’ compatible mesh edits.

Second, the register for the Deliciously Indulgent Bakery is crap. Most of the sets are wonky, like they have great ideas but no follow through so you end up with more frustration than enjoyment. 

To be honest, I totally knew that, but I wanted to try to use it anyways, only to delete it and put in another savvier seller register and a small display.

Once that was over with I had to accept the fact that nothing I do seems to fix the fact that I can’t get bartender’s to spawn for Rebecca’s Cafe. So I tossed the two bars, put in the cotton candy and snow cone machines from generations as well as the small roller rink, then added the tropical barbeque stall from @aroundthesims​ and another food register, which meant making over yet another NPC.

I made that sound like a complaint, but I actually had a lot of fun with the makeovers.

I’m now calling the lot Rebecca’s Roller Rink, and just like Cruzita’s, there’s no Rebecca to be found.

Finally, after actually viewing Isla Paradiso in live mode I have to say I am impressed by the ridiculously jagged, janky landscape and hope whoever it was that built the world has realized that CAW is NOT their strong suit. I totally, one hundred percent have never used CAW myself, and super suck at using the terrain tools in build. HOWEVER even I could have done a better job smoothing out the damn hills. There are whole sinkholes beside the road on the Island with the Ichtaca gardens, like how..? 

So for the last three or so months I’ve been going through the process of my SSI review. I don’t have good relationships with my doctors, something that makes this much easier, so I basically had to go through the same process I did to be classified as disabled in my state initially. It’s been super stressful, and I didn’t really realize how much until I crashed (I’m still crashing) pretty hard after seeing the appointed psychotherapist.

The meeting was not fun. And my anxiety had ramped up super high the two weeks before seeing him. I mostly felt this in tight muscles, irritation, and a deterioration of my appetite and ability to maintain my sleep schedule. 

Anywho, I’m pretty sure this is the real reason I haven’t entered live mode. 

Going through this process is like having an item on my “to do” list that I can’t scratch off, and that keeps pulsing red whenever I try to do something else on the list.

I’ve been building and editing sims, but haven’t entirely been able to enjoy the game, or anything else for that matter.

I’m still waiting to hear the final decision on whether they’ll rule in my favor, or if I have to go through an appeal. I don’t expect to really be able to relax until then, and thus don’t expect to do much in game other than stocking inventory, and route testing.

I have plenty of material now that I’ve adjusted how I post, so none of this should effect what’s happening here anytime soon.

So I made more progress on Conquer’s Isla Paradiso vacation home. I’ve worked on it almost everyday that adulting didn’t sap me of energy. Being unable to play as much as I want as oppose to feeling pressured to play has been great, and I’m eager to go back into TS3 after I’m done posting here.

I’m pretty much done with the overall structure and placing items. I’m now focused on the create a style aspect of the build and trying to decide if I will route test the home immediately, or update Conquer’s look and wardrobe first.

Regardless, more interior shots of the home wont be taken or shared until I can use tab mode. I might also share some create-a-sim photos at some point. That is if I get the urge to use the camera, as my goal is to not make that a priority.
