#simblr ramble

I know I haven’t been around, but lookie at what I did. Been flirting with the alpha side and I thought they turned out cute. This post, I guess is to touch in. I think you can kind of tell I’m on a bit of a hiatus. Truthfully, I just haven’t felt the urge to play the game. Some of it is due to me being slightly... okay, majorly addicted to the DA franchise. But another is just my growing frustration with The Sims. Every time I think I’m ready to play again, something irks me and often time I’ll exit the game before I really get any play time in. I feel a lot of bitterness towards a game I love and it’s disheartening.

But as it stands, I don’t need Rey and Rylo and Hans crash landing in Willow Creek. I don’t need these (100% believed) costume aliens taking over Nancy Landgrabbs outfits. I don’t need to play out the fight for The Restistence in my Sims game. (Pushing my knowledge of Star Wars to the limit here...)

Or why not a generic space theme pack? Yes, I admit a lot of my disappointment with this is the brand name tie in. Not that I hat Star Wars (though last time I watched one was the prequel trilogy). It’s not the lack of realism that disappoints me. It’s the break in Sims immersion. It’s taking a square peg and trying to force it into a round hole.

That said, to those that will enjoy it and have fun in it, I’m am happy for y’all. I can’t wait to see how y’all use this pack and make it your own. I want to celebrate in you happiness.

I know people that this pack will be perfect for them. For their stories, for their gameplay aesthethic, for whatever. Is it the pack I would have 100% wanted? No. It’s not my style. But I am happy to see things I like in it. I’m happy for my friends who get some more grungier stuff for their play style and I’m happy to see things that I can use for me cutesier play style. 

Do I think EA is going to mess something up in the pack? Of course. EA has that habit of doing that. Do I think there is going to be something amazing about this pack? Yes, because every pack so far had something I REALLY enjoy.

I truly hate teaser trailers because there is nothing substantial in them. It’s all about the pretty. “ooo.. Look! Here’s these items you’ve been saying you wanted.” But we don’t get to see the true insides of the game. Let me see that stuff before making my final decision.
