‘I don’t have the words right now so here’s a kiss’ and jaylos? >///<
another kiss meme
What was he even doing here? Asking Jay of all people how to ask someone out on a date. He didn’t know what thought process had gotten him to this moment, knowing full well that he wasn’t thinking about asking some girl. Hell, Carlos didn’t even like girls. Jane was nice, but she was his friend, someone he had grown close to since they had come to Auradon and was glad to see around.
Jay just smiles at him, blinding and so certain as he leans casually against the wall as if he doesn’t realize how awesome he looks. And he does look awesome, handsome. Carlos can barely even keep up, already losing track of everything that he was just told and furrowing his brows as his eyes drop to the side, worry curling in his stomach.
“Hey, ‘Los? You alright? Lookin’ kinda pale there.”
“What – oh, yeah, I, um. I’m fine. Listen, Jay… about what you said with all of that.”
“Yeah? I told you, it’s easy —”
“No, no, I – what if the person you wanted to ask out was…”
He swallows, this was the moment…. but he falls short. The words a friend fail to tumble out and he’s left floundering like a fish out of water. What was he suppose to do. Jay is busy looking at him like he’s wanting to help, but missing a piece of the puzzle and as true as that is… Man, Carlos wishes he could just —-
And then… and then he does.
Carlos’ hands come up and take hold of the taller boy’s face and pull him into a kiss. It’s quick and he stumbles back afterwards, hands balling into fists and face flushing so pink that it almost hides his freckles from view.
Now he’s really done it.
Jay stares at him in confusion and amazement and then there’s a quirk at the corner of his lips and, fuck, Carlos’ heart stutters in his chest and he’s so painfully, irrevocably aware of just how fucking screwed he is.
“A friend?”
Is all that Jay supplies, finishing Carlos’ long forgotten sentence before stepping forward and leaning into the young De Vil’s space with one hand gently flicking his finger to move Carlos’ hair from his face and kiss him. It’s not as fast or rushed as the one Carlos gave him, barely a brush of lips, this one is slow and careful and meaningful to the point that he is lost in it until Jay pulls back enough to speak.
“Will you go out with me?”
Damn, that was fitting — and really smooth.
“Yeah, of course I will, Jay.”
Jay grins.
“Good cause that’s how you do it.”
Carlos laughs even as he punches Jay in the shoulder, grinning so hard it almost hurts.
