[HARRISON]: Come in, Warren. What could possibly be so pressing that it needs to be discussed over breakfast?

[WARREN]: Your family’s image, unfortunately. I don’t mean any offense sir, but this newest stunt by the prince has caused national approval ratings to hit a new low

[HARRISON]: It always comes back to Bash, doesn’t it?

[WARREN]: It seems so, sir. This does seem to be a theme in recent days [HARRISON]: I had thought we took care of it, but he just keeps screwing up

[HARRISON]: Regardless, I realize his antics are less than ideal, but I’m not going to call him home if that’s what you are going to suggest

[WARREN]: I understand, teenagers are difficult. I have a daughter of my own

[HARRISON]: Be glad she isn’t a matter of national intrigue and speculation

[HARRISON]: Distraction is the best method of covering things up, is it not?

[HARRISON]: It seems that Adeline will most likely be attending university this fall

[WOMAN #1]: This is the most beautiful Rose Day celebration in years

[WOMAN #2]: I heard that the princess planned it entirely, from the decorations all the way down to even the menu

[MAN #1]: At least one of the royals has their shit together then. Have you heard the prince has been seen in Thornbeck for over a month now? My brother says he has seen him a few times now all on his own out there

[WOMAN #1]: It seems the rumors of trouble in the royal household have some merit then

[MAN #2]: I’m not one for gossip, but a friend of a friend works inside the palace and told me the king hadn’t even told his children about the affair

[MAN #1]: Well we’ve all heard what a hothead that boy is, but not even showing to support your country on Rose Day of all days? Inexcusable if you ask me

[MARY]: Your Royal Highness, may I just say that you have done a marvelous job on today’s celebration. This is the finest Rose Day as far back as I can remember!

[MARY]: My name is Mary Edwards and this is my son, Landon. My husband is old school chums with His Majesty [LANDON]: It’s a pleasure to meet you, Your Royal Highness

[MARY]: Of course, I understand that the king is a very busy man, as is my husband who was unable to accompany us today. It’s just as well that Landon and I had the opportunity to finally meet you, princess. She is even more beautiful in person, wouldn’t you agree dear?

[ADELINE]: It’s alright, really. After growing up with younger siblings it takes far more to insult me, I assure you

[MARY]: Yes, I’m sure it does. Where is the prince anyway? It seems rather odd that he not make an appearance at his sister’s first event

[ADELINE]: Oh, you see, he actually… um… well he… [LANDON]: I’m sure he was needed elsewhere, mother. Surely it’s not the princess’s job to keep tabs on her siblings

[MARY]: Of course, I was only asking because everyone seems so taken by his absence and [ADELINE]: internally Breathe, stop hyperventilating and just breathe dammit

[LANDON]: I think we’ve taken enough of Her Highness’s time, mother [ADELINE]: Yes, I’m sorry, if you’ll excuse me

[VICTORIA]: Is that Addie running off? [WARREN]: It would appear so

[VICTORIA]: Where could she be off to? [WARREN]: Perhaps running away as Prince Sebastian has, Your Royal Highness

[VICTORIA]: Watch it, Warren. My brother is fond of you, but I would advise you to mind your tongue along with your own business regarding my nieces and nephew

[ADELINE]: Inhale 1… 2… 3… 4… Exhale 1… 2… 3… 4…

[ADELINE]: This isn’t working goddammit! Pull yourself together, Addie

[ADELINE]: I look like a disaster. How the hell am I going to go back out there and give my speech looking like this?

[KATE]: I saw you run off and I- Oh! Are you alright? Did something happen?

[ADELINE]: I know I’m being ridiculous, I just can’t help it. I can’t stop shaking and it’s kind of hard to breathe [KATE]: You’re not being ridiculous, I think you’re having a panic attack.

[KATE]: Has this happened to you before? [ADELINE]: Yeah… a few times. They were asking about Bash and I just… I froze. They probably think I’m crazy now…

[ADELINE]: I don’t know how I’m going to go back out there [KATE]: I do

[KATE]: You’re going to hold your head high and enjoy the rest of the party you spent weeks pouring your blood sweat and tears into. You’re going to give the speech we practiced countless times and everyone is going to talk about how the Crown Princess threw the best Rose Day celebration in decades

[KATE]: Now let’s wipe those tears and fix your mascara, alright?

[ADELINE]: Thank you, Kate. I really don’t know what I would do without you

[ADELINE]: Thank you all for joining us in celebrating another Rose Day together as a nation. We have all heard the love story between Princess Elizabeth of Brighton and Sir John, her trusted protector, that inspired this longstanding celebration of love and unity

[ADELINE]: Though the love between the princess and her knight was forbidden, their hearts refused to obey the rules of man. We celebrate their perseverance each year to remind us of the strength that love provides us and the sacrifices that may be made for it

[ADELINE]: The country celebrated with a large feast and lovers across the nation exchanged roses as a symbol of their own love along with honoring the princess and her new husband. Today we continue to celebrate love and the unity between our people, no matter their station

[MARY]: I didn’t know we needed a history lesson [LANDON]: I actually think it’s rather sweet

[WARREN]: I’m going to be honest, Your Majesty, it’s not looking good

[HARRISON]: No shit, Warren. Just tell me how bad

[WARREN]: They don’t know that it’s Elaine, but they obviously know there is a woman. They’re also assuming it’s been going on for as long as your Cresthill visits have increased

[HARRISON]: I suppose that’s to be expected. At least Elaine will have her privacy for a little while longer. The public isn’t going to like that she isn’t royal, will they?

[WARREN]: I don’t believe they will

[HARRISON]: The kids are the ones I’m most concerned about. Bash especially will be upset

[WARREN]: I’m sure they will come around once they see how happy you are with Miss Elaine

[HARRISON]: You clearly don’t know my son

[WARREN]: I don’t envy you, Your Majesty

[HARRISON]: I’m not looking forward to going home, that’s for sure

[WARREN]: Things aren’t looking good in the media, Your Majesty

[WARREN]: The media has run with the story about Prince Sebastian for days at this point

[HARRISON]: Surely it will all blow over soon, will it not?

[WARREN]: That is the hope, of course, but I’m afraid the damage has been done. We need to provide them with a positive royal story to turn things around for us

[HARRISON]: And I’m assuming you have ideas? That is what I pay you for, correct?

[WARREN]: I do, Your Majesty. I think it may be time to introduce the world to the Crown Princess

[HARRISON]: Adeline? What do you have in mind for her?

[WARREN]: Rose Day is approaching. Maybe Her Royal Highness should organize this year’s event

[WARREN]: It would be a good story for the media as well as an opportunity to begin to prepare the Crown Princess for her future duties
