I'm back. I had to take a hiatus through summer because I play in high detail and it usually heats up my computer so I didn't want to risk it with the heatwave, but now that autumn has started i can finally make good on some promises I made last season.

The week started out rough, and didn't really improve much.
After work Lilith batted into the restroom to clean up a little. She didn't realize anyone was currently occupying it and nearly gave these two old men a heart attack....
After that horrifying encounter Lilith retreated upstairs to hang out with her friends for a little while when who should show up but Bernice.
"Aaah! A vampire! Soo scary." Bernice yelled dramatically. Several sims startled, already on edge from the lightning storm.
There was really something wrong with this woman...was she...taunting Lilith?
Once everyone had calmed down several people laughed, thinking it was just a prank.
Lilith was not so amused, fed up with the whole night, Lilith headed home early.
That's where things went from bad to worse. The next day was the start of a heat wave, and Lilith woke up with Heat Sickness. Feeling dizzy she stumbled into the front room of the crypt, which had never been a problem before, even in the daytime, there was no windows but the entrance was just a big open archway.
Usual the sunlight streaming in from the outside was easy enough to avoid, but Lilith wasn't in her right mind and stumbled right into it.
Shrieking Lilith instantly batted back into her room, slumping to the floor and panting for breath.
It hurt!
She could practically feel the heat seeping up through the stonework. Slowly, painfully, Lilith crawled back into her coffin and sank into an exhausted sleep.
When night fell Lilith stumbled outside, thirst starting to tickle her throat. She wasn't feeling strong enough to bat to the Tailors shop like usual so she picked someone up off the pier before heading back to the cemetery.
That's where things got...weird.
She had only seen a ghost once at this point, specters were far more common, but when she returned to the cemetery there were several ghosts milling around.
But they weren't the only things haunting the cemetery. Two fat little gnomes started following Lilith around the cemetary.
Dizzy from her fever Lilith was not in the mood to deal with...all that...She ignored everything and headed back to the cool dark sanctuary of her coffin.
Several days passed like this before the fever broke. She was still feeling nauseous and a little dizzy but she wasn't bedridden any longer....and she was no longer hallucinating.
At least...she was pretty sure she wasn't hallucinating anymore. Had those gnomes always been there?
Well, at least they weren't following her anymore.
The heat wave was still in effect and she was too scared to go far from home in case she got caught out in the day, so Lilith spent her free time exploring the catacombs under the cemetery.
There was something living down there...and she was determined to pet it. Even if it took forever to gain it's trust.
She wasn't expecting to come up one morning, shortly before dawn to find Gretta wandering around the cemetery.
"Lilith! There you are, we've been so worried." She exclaimed, rushing over to pull the vampire into an embrace.
"Ah!" Lilith couldn't help the small cry of pain at the touch. The burn was still so painful and she suspected she wouldn't be able to heal properly until the heat wave had passed.
Gretta pulled away instantly, "Are you okay? What's wrong?" Then she took a good hard look at Lilith. "Is that a burn?! What happened?"
"I...have a rare allergy." Lilith said, scrambling for some excuse that would make sense.
"To the sun?" Gretta joked, only to stop mid laugh, "Wait..." Lilith shrugged helplessly in agreement. "Is that why you don't come to school and we never see you during the day?"
Lilith giggled helplessly, overwhelmed with how close her secret was to spilling out. "Guilty."
"That...explains so much!"
Lilith guides her back to the crypt, the two of them sitting down on the sole bench pushed up against the wall.
A couple moments pass in silence as Gretta looks around. "Lilith." She starts slowly, "You're not - living here. Are you?" She asked suspitiously.
What was there to even say about that. The answer was yes, of course. But she really didn't want to tell her friend that.
"No!" Gretta exclaimed in horror.
"It's not that bad!" Lilith protested, "I have big plans to spruce it up and there's no adults around to tell me what to do. It's great."
Gretta slowly relaxed, looking around the place with new eyes. "I guess it is kinda cool. And you don't have to share with any annoying siblings."
"Exactly!" Lilith breathed a sigh of relief, that had gone better than she had expected.
Surprisingly the next night Gretta showed up at the cemetery again, "So, the gang and I have been talking." She started. "And we think it would be a good idea to get you out of the heat for a little while. We found the perfect place. It's a little island, secluded away from the outside world and the best part is the area has been subjected to non stop rain for the last couple days. It's perfect."
"I don't know." Lilith said, still nervous about getting caught out in the sun.
"It'll be fun, I promise. And we wont let you stay out too late so don't worry about that. It'll be just for a couple hours."
"Okay." Lilith gave in. She had been so bored lately she was desperate to see her friends and get away. And Kiyoshi would be there and it had been forever since she had been able to spend any amount of time with him.
Gretta had been correct. This was nice. The cool water felt like heaven on her burns and it was so good to see her friends again. Although, she hadn't been able to spend time with Kiyoshi yet.
She had seen him in passing, but before she could even go say high he was gone. Always busy talking to someone else.
He wasn't ignoring her. Was he?
The outing ended before she ever got a chance to talk to him, so she went home a little dejected.
That outing was just what Lilith needed. By 6 the next evening her burn had completely healed and it was raining again so she was finally able to go back to work and get a proper meal. All before night had fully set in too!
She briefly saw Bernice, waiting at the Tailors shop like some sort of creepy ambush predator. But Lilith saw her before she was noticed and was able to 'distract' her.
Bernice would not be harassing her tonight!
Even better, she ran into Kiyoshi while she was there. "Oh, hey Lilith. I was just heading out to a festival, you want to come?" He asked with a handsome smile.
"I'd like that." Lilith said, eager to spend time with him. Maybe, if she was feeling brave, she would even ask him to go steady tonight.
Tonight just kept getting better and better.
When they arrived at the festival the sun was still out and there was no rainclouds to protect her this time. The two of them dashed into the nearest building, happily surprised when they realized it was a karaoke bar.
Everything was going so well. Lilith was thrilled. "I really missed you." She told him, "I'm so glad you asked me out again."
"Uh...yeah." He said, sounding distracted. "Listen, I have to go. I'll see you around."
Lilith, shocked, stood in the shadow of the building and watched him walk away. "Oh...by?"
They hadn't even been there for that long, and they hadn't actually explored the festival at all.
Confused Lilith flew home. By the time she landed just outside the gates of the cemetery she was near tears. What had happened, what had she done wrong?
Not knowing what else to do, and feeling like her world was crashing down around her, she called Gretta.

honestly, it’s just so fun seeing what you create!! you’ve got such a unique style, and it inspires me every time 💗 I’m really grateful to share this space with someone so talented 🫶
i'm so honored, you were one of the simblrs that inspired me to start working on my own recolors, so this means so much ❤️🥺
always a great day when i log on and see something new from you, my sims closets are full of your cc. 🥰
that evening, the neighbor invited me over. i wore my best perfume and a vague sense of expectation. not for anything dramatic—just something charged. maybe a look held too long. maybe a second glass of wine.
instead, we made grilled cheese. he handed me a recipe book. we sat in his kitchen like two people on a layover, waiting for something to take off that never did.
and when it was time to say goodbye, he hugged me. not tightly, not briefly. the kind of hug that lingers just long enough to blur the line between intimacy and indifference.
as i walked home, half-amused and half-confused, i found myself wondering—when a man pulls you in, only to keep you at arm’s length… is it affection, or is it just good manners?
