There's a knock at his door, and he sighs. It's like they're in sync-- when he gets like this, he always manages to show up.
He opens the front door, and standing before him, is Silver, looking the same way he has for the past three hundred and three years.
"Hello, John."

Are you talking about both Hamiltons or just Thomas? Because either of those is A fucking Plus.
So if weâre just going with Thomas, I think the way the three of them would work would help to regulate each other. Flint loves both of his boys so very much, and they both balance him in very different ways.Flint is someone who is very narrow minded in his goals, which we see a lot of in the show, itâs why Silver was able to bend Flintâs will so much, because he was able to either work outside the parameters of his view, or twist things to appear like they would be aiding him. Silver and Thomas both know how to handle him. Thomas knows how to handle James. Silver knows how to handle Flint. Together they can piece together who he is and who heâs going to become in the days, months, years after Silver stops his war. Together they can both get him out of his own head, get him to look to the things he has instead of the things that could have been, get him to see that no, things arenât perfect, but sometimes perfect isnât achievable. But they can do it while watching his back, making sure he doesnât do something dangerous because he feels like he has to. Because he doesnât have to do anything anymore. None of them do.And Flint can give them both what they want. What they need and have either lacked their whole life or have been without for so long it almost feels like a part of them is missing. Flint loves them both with the sort of undying loyalty that you canât find just anywhere. He loves them enough to start wars for them, to be vulnerable with them in a way that he didnât think he could ever be, to let down his walls for a moment, to end wars for them. And if weâre including Miranda then that is all true as well, but Miranda gives them all something. Miranda is a silent fighter, you can see that clear as day. She does what she knows her men cannot, endures what they canât see. Sheâs the strength that all of them need and the fury that protects them all. She knows how to keep herself composed until she canât stand it anymore. And she loves just as fiercely as anyone. She can bring them back from the edges they all love to toe off of, she shields them all form the worst of things, she pushes herself to her absolute limit for them. Though her and Silver donât get any screen time together minus one moment of eye contact I can imagine the way they both work together, how they work around Flint, herding him towards the direction he needs to go. I can see them mirroring each other on Thomas and Flintâs sides, sharing knowing glances and soft touches and silent conversations that last only seconds but can convey so much. I can imagine the way they both hover in the doorway to Thomasâs office, Miranda with her back straight and all the propriety a woman of her (previously held) position cannot unlearn, Silver leaning against the doorway in a way that drives Flint up the wall, even after years of living with pirates. I can see them all working to convince Silver that yes, they love him just as much as they love each other, and gently urging him not to push himself beyond his own limits, especially when he has particularly bad days. I can see them all spending nights up with each other, each of their own nightmares making sleep an impossibility, the silent comfort of having another next to you.I can see the way they all wake up in the morning, sometimes all in the same bed, sometimes in any number of beds. I can see the gentle kisses, and how they all move as one and around each other in the way that you can only get through years of living together. I can just see this as plain as anything.Â
Silverflinthamiltons cuddling on a snowy day, for fluffy prompts?
i was just thinking about how badly i wanted to cuddle anyone this morning, thanks fore helping me live vicariously
****
Flint knows as soon as he wakes that itâs snowed overnight. Itâs not the chill of the room that tips him off- with Miranda and Thomas wrapped around him on either side, heâs quite content - but rather a certain smell in the air, a sharpness that can mean nothing else than freshly fallen snow.
Silver has told him time and again that snow doesnât have a scent, that a cold nose does not equate to a particular smell, but as Flint looks out the window he can see through the gap in the curtains that their small yard is completely covered. Flint pauses. Speaking of SilverâŚ.
There should be four people in this bed, not three. There had certainly been four last night when theyâd all clambered in, too tired for anything more than exchanging chaste kisses goodnight.Â
Flint slowly and carefully extricates himself from the tangle of limbs, smiling as Miranda and Thomas simply mumble sleepily and gravitate toward each other in his absence.Â
Itâs frigid in the cottage, the fire having died down at some point in the night and leaving them with nothing but the draughty windows and thick door to keep the chill out.Â
It doesnât help that Flintâs walking around in nothing but his nightshirt. Perhaps he should have pulled some socks on before looking for Silver. Or maybe some breeches.

Chapter 1
Over the years, the one thing that John Silver had come to appreciate most about London was the multitude of cafes, coffee shops, and pubs that populated the city. Without fail, he had managed to find a little hole in the wall best suited to very possible situation, dates, business lunches, catching up with old friends, the awkward break up.Â
Sometimes a cafe was better, the calmer, at times more elegant tone of the place adding to the scolding his sister might be giving him, or making him appear more put together when meeting with a publisher. Other times a coffee shop with old wooden booths and simple menus were best, when the only thing needed was caffeine and quiet. And on nights when writers block and insomnia decided to team up on him, well there was always a pub or ten within walking distance of the tube station.Â
The only trouble was, out of all the spots heâd been, a regular haunt had eluded him. Nothing felt quite right, nothing offered the right balance of all three, at least on the list of fifty or so places he tried. And often he and Jack, and their little circle of friends, stuck to their usual routine of places, rotating through them now and then to give the illusion of something fresh and different. But genuine change, a true meander off the beaten path was rare.
So when Jack recommended they meet at a new place for lunch, John was curious. Jack had always preferred The Scarlet Brewhouse on the other side of the river, or The Wolfhound near Covent Garden when he had a bit more change in his pocket. John couldnât remember if theyâd explored the pubs and shops near Boroughs Market before, or at least not consciously- heâd been one one to many pub crawls with Jack and Charles, of which his memory was foggy and limited. Perhaps that had been when Jack had found this new spot, The Walrus.
Whoâd name a pub after so random an animal John had no idea, likely an inside joke of the owners. But then in a city with a few dozen public houses referencing cocks and princes, he supposed it was no more nor less suited than any other.
The corporate lunch crowd of the two oâclock hour had thankfully moved along, leaving the entrance to the Market far less crowded than the last time John had visited. It was an easy thing to spot Jack in his violet bomber jacket waiting on the curb with a cigarette in hand. John laughed at the sight of Charles next to him, three butterfly closures on his bruised forehead and a plaster splint on his nose.
âWhat the fuck happened to you?â
Charles grumbled and rolled his eyes. âNothing-â
âHeâs the reason we didnât go to Scarletâs Iâm afraid,â Jack said with a put upon sigh.
âDid you get banned?â
âNo he knows better than that. He started a fight down in whitechapel last night, with the pair of fellows who run this walrus place.â
Charles sneered, but it was a weak thing, with the bandage on his nose. âThey started it.â

James McGraw is the King of Enclava, a widower and father to ten-year-old Eleanor. In his kingdom homosexuality is generally accepted, although there are still people who reject it. Miranda and Thomas Hamilton are a married noble couple who start a polyamorous relationship with James. At some point, Miranda realizes that what Thomas and James have is deeper so she steps aside, while still caring for them - and they for her. Some years pass from the queenâs death and the counsellors tell James that he has to marry again for the good of the country and the best suitor is Silver, a young king who has nonetheless shown his courage on the battlefield and his ability to create well-crafted strategic plans. The marriage is one of convenience - as James is quick to point out - but as time passes, Silver starts falling for his husband, who, however, hasnât touched him since their wedding night, considering that they cannot and donât have to provide an heir. In the meantime, Silver starts spending time with the Hamiltons, curious of what attracts the king so much. He finds he is equally bewitched by the couple and their quick wit. But will the four of them find a way to balance their feelings without risking heartbreak?
