"i   found   these   books   on   the   dusk   court."   the   scholar   began   as   she   approached   the   other   scholars.   the   fact   that   the   library   had   allowed   her   to   take   them   out   had   to   be   a   sign   that   they   were   okay   to   read   them.   she   would   have   been   stopped   if   it   wasn't   something   that   they   were   allowed   to   read.   though   she   questioned   what   was   in   them   that   they   could   truly   learn.   "i   figured   maybe   we   could   go   through   them   together.   if   you   would   want   to."

"what   made   you   decide   to   become   a   musician?"   something   told   the   gaean   spy   that   he   was   more   than   just   a   musician,   but   he   wasn't   accusing   the   other.   it   was   more   of   an   observation.   bao   had   taken   on   a   number   of   different   fake   jobs   to   hide   his   fact   of   being   a   spy   for   the   gaean   community.   "was   it   hard   to   learn   the   instruments?"

the   nights   that   aerin   was   fussy   and   unable   to   sleep   were   the   nights   that   the   high   lady   dreaded   the   most.   not   a   lot   ever   truly   worked   to   get   the   little   girl   to   settle   into   sleep   so   that   she   could   also   get   her   own   slumber   in.   that   night   had   been   particularly   long   already   when   she   had   been   ready   to   pull   her   own   hair   out   to   get   the   little   one   to   sleep.   that   was   when   the   thought   had   popped   into   her   mind.   "thank   you   wren."   she   spoke   softly   as   she   stepped   out   of   the   room   closing   the   door   quietly   behind   her.   "i   appreciate   you   playing   her   to   sleep   more   than   i   could   ever   express."

being   accustomed   to   the   amount   of   fae   that   crowded   the   capital   was   not   something   that   wendi   was   quite   ready   for.   maybe   it   was   the   fact   that   she   had   spent   her   formative   years   in   a   small   town   that   housed   even   less   than   the   capital   did   of   just   dusk   fae,   however   every   where   she   turned   now   there   was   several   times   more   fae   than   she   could   have   ever   thought   to   see   in   their   court.   the   market   had   become   a   popular   spot   for   the   fae   to   spend   time   in,   spend   their   money   while   they   were   trapped   in   the   dusk   court.   it   left   the   market   bustling   with   people   as   the   dusk   lady   attempted   to   look   for   the   things   that   she   had   needed.   bumping   into   another   as   she   approached   a   stall,   she   looked   up   to   them.   "my   apologies,   i   am   not   used   to   such   crowds."
