Sometimes,

Nicknames do not really always come to Zora naturally. But when there are petnames that they think of - they do like using them.

   The idea of always having someone ..something in that idea alone seems to ring a little hollow to Zora. It’s hard for them to explain it and they’re not entirely sure that they should try to do so. Maybe it’s too long of people claiming that to be the case when it turned out to be true.. which has Zora a little cautious about accepting that on face value.

Even from Brandon, who is as good as anyone they could possibly know or care about.

“I.. , I want to believe that Brandon. I do. But..“ Their voice drops off and their eyes close, just thinking, overwhelmed with the effort of trying to make sense of the concerns that they can’t help but feel. Memories haunting them and making them try not to be too reliant on things that they feel inevitably pass.

“You still alive there ol’ Daniel boy?”

Daniel...Samuel isn’t quite sure at what exact point he made the shift from ‘Mr Adams’ to Daniel, though he suspects the two of them have been in each other’s company long enough now to fully justify it. It’s use doesn’t seem over-familiar, indeed, it seems entirely appropriate for two men that spend all night and all day in each other’s company, from sun rise to sun set. Sun set, however, is a long way off and it seems the heat of the mid-day sun has got to Englishman today, a little more than Samuel might have expected. 

They’d only planned to stop for a quick bite to eat but as he feels Daniel Adams slump to the side against him, head gradually falling to rest on Sam’s shoulder, the bounty hunter realises perhaps it is a nap that is needed after all. For a brief moment he ponders whether the man may be suffering from some kind of sun stroke, but as he hears a soft little snoozy kind of snore, Sam decides it’s more likely just simple exhaustion. 

“Oh-" Arthur blinked, removed his glasses, rubbed his eyes and replaced them. Attention turning inward, he seemed to calculate something. "Déjà vu."

The man looked familiar, like someone he saw in a dream. Perhaps they'd met. At the very least, he seemed to be investigating here.

Anne Shirley-Cuthbert was as curious as they come. So when Marilla asked her to bring a basket of scones to their new neighbor she was ecstatic.

“Oh, Marilla! How exciting! A detective! Do you suppose he’s seen all kinds of exciting and frightening things?”

“I don’t know, but if you keep asking me questions meant for him that basket will get cold!”

Zora had been looking forward to seeing Brandon’s reaction. There was a level of detail to this whole mystery dinner that they couldn’t help but take pleasure in. So when they had discovered the very, very red writing on the note - they were certainly not going to refuse the chance to make a little show out of the entire deal.

Sure, it was likely to be fake - as soon confirmed by Brandon’s actually tasting the substance, but it didn’t make things any less entertaining in their book.

  “I figured that it wouldn’t have come easily to you.. So much of the progress that gets made in being comfortable and confident  in your creative process.“ A pause to think. “It takes a while. It takes so much trial and error. And I’m sure that there is a lot of frustration that comes with that.“ Zora nonetheless gives a small, gentle smile to Brandon.

“But you’ve come a long way. And you deserve to appreciate the results of the effort that you put into your creations.“
