a kiss on the jawline & a kiss on the back of the hand.Â
theyâre on a walk, something theyâve been doing for a couple days now. sofia coming by after work. sometimes they talk about their day, but more often than not itâs just them walking and enjoying the silence. sometimes theyâll walk by a place that holds a special memory for sofia and sheâll tell elaine like she it had just happened. there are moments during these walks where she thinks about reaching out her hand to take elaineâs. it scares her, thinking like that. not that it would be bad, not that it would be the end of the world or earth shattering. itâs just that they are feelings that sofia had never felt before and feeling them towards someone who might not feel the same is a little scary. vulnerable. but they walk together anywaysâwith so much in between both of them of not saying anything but so badly wanting to say something. her fingers brush against elaineâs, normally she would tuck her hands away but she lets them touch, lets them graze against the other and sheâll look over at elaine like sheâs the only other person in the world that exists.
when it starts getting darker they head back, sofia walking elaine back home instead of going their separate ways to try and take as much of she could of this moment. itâs only when theyâre close to her house does sofia get the courage to reach out and grab her hand. sofia has never held hands with someone before. never really had a crush in the first place to even think about wanting to hold hands with someone. and she doesnât know where the bravery is coming from but it feels good to have someoneâs hand in her ownâsomeone who has made and created so many wonderful and lovely things. she notices thereâs a cut on top of elaineâs hand, her fingers slide over it gently before she brings up her hand to kiss it softly. and when theyâre walking up to elaineâs door sofia reaches out like sheâs going to hold her face but instead she gets up on her tippy toes and goes to kiss her cheek but ends up kissing the side of her jaw.
âgoodnight,â sofia says, walking away before giving herself or elaine the time to react.
a kiss on the corner of the mouth.Â
malia and finley are drunk. malia knows this because she canât stop laughing at whatever finley is trying to tell her but sheâs not understanding it and the room is spinning a little, âbut like in a fun way,â as she put it to finley. theyâre on her couch, somehow maliaâs place becoming the prominent place to drink wine and watch shitty television or talk about whatever it is that finley and malia talk about. itâs an assortment of things, but theyâre friends now. and malia canât remember the last time she had laughed this much with a friend about random shit. she knows that the alcohol is definitely helping the process but she doesnât care. thereâs a rerun on the tv now of the golden girls, one of her momâs favourite shows and finley was leaning against malia for a bit before malia grabbed a pillow and placed it on her lap and tugging finley to lay their head on the pillow so they could be more comfortable. malia is watching fin watch the screen, she place a hand on top of their head for a moment, moving the hair out of their face and it makes them both giggle again for some reason. malia has a rush of affection for them, and she doesnât really know where it came from but she just thinks that theyâre the best person in the world all because they can get drunk together and not have to worry about it being weird. when finley turns their head to look up at malia, she smiles down at them before leaning down herself, sheâs aiming for her lips but gets the corner of their mouth instead. malia laughs, almost giggling into their mouth before lifting her head back up. her head is still spinning, she isnât sure if itâs just the wine anymore.
