SkekUng: I hate him!

SkekUng: He says he can't live without me, and then he lets me go. I love him, but he's infuriating.

SkekGra: You just said you hated him. Which is it?

When I started shipping it if I did:

It was from the very first moment I watched the film. I’m a sucker for rival x rival. Also, how can you not ship them when the first thing Ung orders as emperor is to strip his rival down naked?

My Thoughts:

Again, it is one of those ships that you have to kinda accept is somewhat toxic, which if done correctly can be interesting. Rivals to lovers (or lovers to rivals) are always fun to play around with. What made them hate each other? Was it always like this or did something happen? I never read any of the books so I just assume the hatred wasn’t always like this. And more importantly, while the others couldn’t stand Skeksil, SkekUng’s hatred seemed more personal.

What makes me happy about them:

I think what makes me happy is that, regardless of if you ship them as lovers or exes, there is enough material to where humor can play. If I want Skeksil to call Ung a piece of shit, it is in character whether or not they are a couple. For most ships, there’s this idea that it has to be perfect or pure. But with these two, especially with the fact they are skeksis, you can dive into that bickering married couple vibe.

What makes me sad about them:

What makes them sad is that they are tragic. Either way you want to look at it there was probably a point to where they were happy and now they are old angry creatures who screwed each other over so badly that the hate boils deep.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: 

Honestly, of all the fics I’ve read about them is pretty good. Again, their relationship doesn’t have to be perfect and wholesome. If the fic is about how abusive the relationship is then it’s valid. It is a toxic ship. And to have fics that have that as the selling point is perfect. It would be VERY hard to screw up a fic about these two.

Things I look for in fanfic:

Something I do enjoy is when the fic makes an effort to show that both of them are flawed. If Ung uses his strength to assert himself then Sil would use his cunning and words. Sometimes I do like to see Ung having a bit more power, but nevertheless having both parties be in the wrong is interesting to read.

Who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other:

My close friends already know this. Skeksil ending up with Var, Mal, or Tek is always a plus for me. Ung, however, I can only imagine with Tek. That’s only because I’m too pea-brained to remember everyone and I haven’t picked up the books to learn more out of pure laziness. 

My happily ever after for them:

This one is hard, cause for most ships happily ever after is them getting together and living their lives. But we know that the Skeksis ending is tragic. Their existence is tragic. I can only say that a halfway happy ending is them having hatchlings together. But only if their relationship is a bit stable. 

Who is the big spoon/little spoon:

We know for a damn fact SkekSil is a little spoon. 

What is their favorite non-sexual activity:

Being an asshole and hmmming are hereditary.

Lun and Lura are older than their brothers also their sire is Sil. Lun is the siren while Lura is the Primadonna. They both love singing and would often compete with each other in their shows. Lura wants attention and detests if Lun gains more fans than her. The two find their brothers to be annoying.

They hate each other with Lura the one mostly insulting her sister. Lun would snarl at her and threaten her, not caring about their bond.

I think I'll rename urLu to be urLou or urOsu, not sure yet.

Suo and Lu are the lil bastards that Sil gave life to. They're destructive and hyperactive. The brothers get along great with each other much to the dismay of everyone else. Lu tries to be like his mom Sil but he has a lot to learn as he often offers the wrong advice. He often trails behind urDei, So/Var urru who he idolizes and wants him to be the next emperor.

Suo serves with skekNox, So/Var skeksis who is basically the warrior. Suo is the commander while his brother is the advisor.
