the beginning of a new chapter.
a short (and super messy) short of my reagent oc and her newly founded home.
āYouāre special. Youāre loved. Youāre worth our effort.ā
Stepping off the shuttle, her trembling hands quickly rose to her eyes, blocking the brightening lights of the facilityās. The aroma of strong medicine went through her nostrils and straight to her brain, slowly forming a headache at the back of her head. It was hard to stomach what had happened. The blood, those humans⦠that roamed around the area, the stench of the rotting corpses, it was slowly dawning on her what she had gone through in order to be standing here.
The churring in her lower stomach grew and saliva started to run down her throat uncontrollably. āHey, you outta go see your room now.ā A womanās voice had caught her attention, they seemed to be another reagent but clearly more experienced. Her gear and clothes seemed more advanced and decorative than her own. āYou have time to explore the facility, but I recommend laying down for a bit.ā The woman seemed to linger for a moment, roaming over her facial features before departing to the hallway. From the corner of her eye, she noticed a white woman with blonde hair peering over her book before focusing back to her reading.
Embarrassment filled her heart and soul. She exhaled deeply and forcefully walked forward, trying her best to shift her focus to anything before she truly would throw up. The fogged like windows allowed her to peer in other reagentās rooms, seeing the different styles and coloring of their room. The cold floor brought her back to Earth. She enjoyed the cool feeling against the cracked floor as she dragged her bare feet across the hallway. Though, with every step she cringed slightly as she was scared to step on anymore broken glass and blood. It was a nice change. Her eyes stayed at her feet before hearing noisesāshe quickly turned to the side and found herself standing in the middle of an enlarged doorway. There were a few other reagents scattered around, talking to one another and playing what seemed to be chess and a simple game of arm wrestling on two available tables.
A step forward, she wanted to continue to explore but the voice of the friendly reagent ringed in her mind. It was probably best to listen to her words. The woman turned slightly and walked up the stairs, keeping her head down and her arms clung to her side. Once she saw her name displayed above her room, she slowly opened the door in fear to see an enemy. But after a second, the door handle departed from the palm of her hand and she stood up tall. The room was cold and muted. It seemed like someone once lived in this room as she noticed scraps of tape on the walls.
She was a quiet woman; it was obvious how she rarely spoke. But she was truly quiet right about now. There were no forming thoughts on her usual chaotic mind. She could feel the churring of her lower stomach settle down. Her hands roamed to her chest, clenching the fabric above her warming heart.
She quietly closed the door behind her, a smile forming ever so quickly on her tired face. It was an unwelcoming room to the naked eye. There was no doubt about that but this was home. This place kept a roof over her head. No longer did she need to sleep in the rainy streets. Struggling to keep her space from being taken by another lonely soul. She had her own space. The woman sighed softly, her body trembled slightly as she couldnāt believe it. The haunting of what happened a few hours ago no longer mattered to her.
Without a minute to waste, she crawled onto the bed and peered up at the ceiling. The mattress creaked slightly under her body weight. Her hands clasped together and gently placed themselves on her chest. The radio was faint though a familiar voice fell upon her ears. Softly speaking to her as she succumbed to an unconscious state of mind.
decided to add a small design change and include that she did have longer hair in the beginning before deciding to cut it all off
iād feel as if she would turn to her hair and pull it as a mechanism to handle under pressure situations ā especially in the beginning of her trials ā so she opt to cut her hair to prevent it getting worse :^]
