#silly fears

Thank you for the ask, anon! ^^ So, everybody is afraid of something, sometimes they are rational, and irrational. Not to get too Lemony Snicket on everyone, but these powerful demon bois have some pretty weird fears. Some are very specific. And yes, I will be including Luke in this.

Lucifer: Lucifer will never admit that he’s afraid of them, or afraid of anything... but he absolutely hates puppets. Just something about the way the look so soul-less, and if he’s looking at a ventriloquist dummy, and if the dummy shifts it’s eyes toward him, instant fire blast. Doesn’t even care about what room he’s in, whether something is highly flammable near it. He’s nipping this in the bud right here and now.

Mammon: We know the Great Frightened Mammon hates horror movies and pretty much any scary situation that seemed out of a horror movie. But he can’t stand scary movie soundtracks, or the sounds of an organ playing by itself. Just a scary situation, and then on top of it, music that fits the situation just makes his heart race, like he’s a character who dies in those movies.

Leviathan: He is the commander of Devildom’s Navy. He knows everything that the sea has. But, he absolutely hates flying. If Lucifer picks him up and flies him somewhere, or if you try to get him to fly on a plane, he is having none of it. I think it’s a control thing with him. (He rides a broom in his UR+ animation, but that’s cause he’s in control of the broom. It’s when he’s out of control that he freaks out.)

Satan: Is a bit harder to pinpoint an actual fear for him, cause he seems to be guided by anger as an emotion rather than fear. But that’s not to say that he doesn’t have a fear. I’d say he has a fear of birds. There was an incident... it involved funnel cake, on the beach, with a huge flock of seagulls... Mammon also kept instigating by throwing cheezits at Satan to keep them coming, and Satan chucked him into the sea, into a jellyfish forest... Lucifer was having the time of his life just watching them both.

Asmodeus: He is scared of wrinkles and mosquitos, cause those are things that he doesn’t want on his perfect skin, he can’t afford to be scratching his skin or letting his face droop. If he even sees a line that he either doesn’t recognize on his face, or that he didn’t construct with make up, he spends his whole day going through the face care obstacle course to tighten up that droop.

Beelzebub: Is another person who it’s hard to pinpoint his fe- Solomon’s cooking. Hands down, feet up, stomach turned, all the way around the house. There are just some things that Solomon should not be doing... and cooking is definitely one of them.

Belphegor: Used to be scared of being alone until the story happened... but all in all, Belphie isn’t really scared of anything... Maybe geese... yeah, Geese specifically. Geese exist to fight god, and that’s what he wants to do in life, geese can scare cows.

Diavolo: Diavolo would only admit this to MC, and Barbatos... he’s scared of spiders, which is why he always has Barbatos around to keep the cobwebs out of the corners. He doesn’t like webs either, webs mean there are spiders.

Barbatos: Rats. Barb hates rats. You are a powerful, dimension, time and reality bending demon and you are scared of Remy from Ratatouille.

Solomon: I heard a rumor that Solomon isn’t a big fan of clocks. And we’re talking like grandfather clocks, cuckoo clocks, any thing that has the rhythmic tick tocking. Reminds him of the passage of time.

Simeon: Simeon is pretty hard to read, even more so than Belphegor, so it’s exceptionally hard to pinpoint his fears. If it was anything, he would be afraid of something nonliving. I would say he fears the figure 8... what?! It’s vertical infinity, why couldn’t they have made it a different symbol?! He absolutely refuses to be the 8th person in a group chat or be in one of exactly 8

I’m late with the reply but... while nothing immediately comes to my mind for the Links, yes they all probably have some petty or silly fear. The only one who had one that I HOPED to introduce but never got to is Sunstone and... well, this basically immortal boy is terrified of stinkbugs.

He will literally charge in, sword up, against any foe. He will die over and over until he manages to complete his task. He will do anything he has to but... give him a stinkbug!

There was supposed to be a little story about how when he was still in his more ‘feral’ stage he really enjoyed to eat bugs (and he still does). The problem with it? Bright colored stuff? He learnt it fast to avoid those, unless they were butterflies, he did lower his guard with the ‘green and somehow hiding bugs’ he found in the grass and on plants, though. 

  So, it may seem silly or ridiculous to some, but I am really upset right now because of a HxH short fanfiction story I read last night. Now, don’t get me wrong! It was beautifully written. But the story itself made me actually fear what could potentially happen if/when Togashi decides to continue Hunter X Hunter. 

  Lemme explain.

  For those that have not read the manga, Hisoka actually dies in the Succession Contest arc but is able to revive himself by commanding his nen to more or less give him CPR after he dies. But it seems that the humiliating defeat he received from his fight with Chrollo, as well as his own actual death, has caused something to snap inside Hisoka’s mind. 

  Originally, Hisoka only killed his targets/opponents by giving them a fair chance. Now? He tells Machi that he will be the one making the conditions for the fights and pretty much declares he will show no mercy. Especially when it comes to the Spiders. 

He proves how serious he is by straight up slaughtering Shalnark and Kortopi when they didn’t even have their nen. (Chrollo still had it from borrowing for the fight with Hisoka)

  Shortly after we learn that Hisoka has requested Illumi not only to join the spiders, but he’s been contracted to kill Hisoka as well! The two are actually married now and the “proposal ring” he offered to Illumi was a prenup stating that Illumi would get paid in the event of Hisoka’s death. He also tells the Spiders that he and Hisoka were previously in a give-and-take relationship but it seemed one was going to kill the other eventually.

  So! This brings me to my concerns for the ongoing of the Hunter x Hunter story. “What exactly is going to happen to my two most favorite characters in Hunter X Hunter?”

  Togashi is a genius in his writing and story telling, so I hope there are a lot more layers to what is exactly going on here. Like, perhaps Illumi is telling most of the truth. 

  I want to think that Hisoka requested him to join the Spiders mostly so Illumi can relay to him what the other members powers are. Remember, Hisoka only knew a few of the members powers and with the use of his pins Illumi has the potential to get the members to tell him their powers or have Kalluto spy on them with his paper dolls. And the reason why Hisoka contracted Illumi to kill him is to protect Illumi by making it more believable in the fact that Illumi will fight to kill Hisoka. Illumi mentions the give-and-take relationship and how it seemed one would kill the other to add to the cover. Maybe the contract becomes void once all the troupe members (excluding Illumi and Kalluto, and maybe Machi?) are dead. So Hisoka has to kill all the other spiders before Illumi can kill him kinda ordeal. Or at least this is all I am hoping for.

  The upcoming “Dark Continent” arc has the potential for Illumi and Hisoka to be the main focus and even be shown in a protagonist light. While Hunter x Hunter is definitely not known for it’s happier moments/endings, I really hope these two don’t end up killing each other. That there is more to what has been let on so far. Gods, that would absolutely break my heart to see them kill each other...  Even more so if there are actual romantic/heartfelt feelings between these two.

  To be honest, I kinda hope the story doesn’t continue, that fans can continue to keep writing their happier fanfictions with out a dark canon shadow overcasting them. Now, would I read the manga if/when Togashi continues it? Of course! I try my hardest to not let my fears control me. That’s not how a Hunter should live their life, right? But if this dark outcome comes real, you can be sure I am going need a truck load of tissues... 

    Again, I know it sounds silly to be upset of the “maybes” of a fictional world and characters that hasn’t even been finished yet. I just tend to get attached to things and ideas as well as fear the outcomes of the unknown. -shrug-

  But what are your thoughts of what may come? I would like to hear other peoples’ opinions and views of this situation between Hisoka and Illumi. 

  OH! Also, the story I read that triggered ALL of this is called “Darkest Heart” by murderousfiligree and it can be found here. If you read this sad little “vent” all the way through I thank you, I just needed to get it out of my head as much as possible.

Here’s a few for ya. I had fun with them. Undertale Sans/Ace – Once woke up in tears from a nightmare where they were trapped in a time before ketchup, does that count? 

Underfell Sans/Chisel – Poorly lit staircases. That shits just creepy ok?

Underswap Papyrus/Piper – Hates bridges. Would rather just wade through the water. If they have to cross a bridge, more often then not he will just short cut to the other side.

Swapfell(Red) Sans/Whip – He's not really afraid of them, he just really hates worms. He will never admit it though. But if you toss one at him he'll squeal and flinch. And then beat you senseless. Fellswap Gold Papyrus/Cirrus – He's just a jumpy boy. He startles pretty easily of he's focused on a specific thing rather than his surroundings. He gives the most adorable yelp, and then huddles into his hood while trying to decide whether to laugh or cry so it's just the cutest silliest giggle sniffle.

Underlust Sans/Shine – Trypophobia but not like, actual phobic level. It just really grosses him out.

Outertale Sans/Saturn – Doesn't like the ocean. Who knows wtf is down there? Also has the dumbest fear of drowning despite that being literally impossible.
