*As Kate was working on a Gen, she had this odd gut feeling about something not being right. No screams of being attacked or anyone running. It was all just.. calm.*
*As she worked, this presence manifested itself behind her, and her gut feeling hit an alert in her head. Yet, before any action for be taken, she felt something cold and sharp slide around her neck, a female voice, she wasn't familiar with, whispering behind her right ear.*
"Slowly, take your hands off the generator.. and keep them in the air. маленькая лань."
@silent-flight
@silent-flight Kate always hated being in a trial with stealth killers. Without fail, she would end up getting surprised while working on a gen, and either pulled off or struck. The whispering caress of a blade against her neck was not a new sensation, but the voice speaking was. Hands that had been working on fixing one of the wires paused before carefully withdrawing, coming up by her head to rest.
The words sounded vaguely like what the Huntress would use, but seeing as a hatchet wasn't buried in her spine, Kate doubted that was it. "This the part where you slice me open or have me run?" she asked, her head tilting up faintly, exposing more neck. It wasn't as though she invited it, but it did unnerve some and won her points with others. She supposed she'd find out in the next few moments.
It's been a Silent Flight since you left.

[day 1: snow globe]
_____________________________
Dean picked up a snow globe in the dollar store. It had a tiny angel inside, wings spread. He shook it a little. The fake snow silently whorled and fell all around it, like dust in the wind.
Dean thought of Cas falling, him losing his wings. He put the angel back as guilt stabbed in his chest like bad indigestion.
Turning and facing the window, Dean saw Cas filling Baby's tank, motionless, like that tiny plastic figure. Snow had started to fall.
Cas caught his eye and smiled.
Dean smiled back and placed the snow globe in his basket.

The texture of barn owl feathers is amazing. I got a macro lens for my phone and of COURSE I would use it on owl feathers! This is a close-up of one of Valentino's molted primary feathers. You can see the tiny wispy feathers that create the ridiculously soft texture and contribute to the silence of their flight. The frayed-looking edge of the feather also contributes to silent flight by breaking air into little microturbulences that produce very little sound. The fimbriate (comb-like) edge of the leading primaries is really cool too - I'll have to get a good pic of that soon.
"Tea?"
*The Barn Owl says, her speaking was the only noise Wesker could hear from her. This person sat above Wesker in one of the rafters of the Raccoon city police Station main Lobby. This Masked person having a cup of Tea, with steam still rolling off the top, in one hand and a small tea cup plate in the other.*

The absence of panic draws a rather peculiar scene when he finally looks up. The figure peering down at him is unexpected. Unusual - even for the standards of this place. But it does not rouse much more than a slight tilt of his head as he notes the objects in their hand.
Harmless - on the surface at least. But that is true of many who reside here in The Fog.
Remaining still unphased as ever, he steps a few paces back. Creating room so that he can have a better look at his guests without craning his neck.
Were they a new killer or something else entirely?
"Do you make a habit of offering refreshments throughout the realms?" He questions.
As amusing a thought as that might be, he is far more enticed by the prospect that some of the others have gored them for even daring. How often has this creature been turned into a wet, bloody smear? The question rouses the malice deep inside of him. Which surfaces as nothing more than a polite, neutral expression
