The once tall forested area was the host of the most beautiful ʻōhiʻa groves of brilliant red, yellow, and salmon blossoms. There too grew ʻieʻie, climbing to the top of the forest canopy. Much of the forest has been consumed by the current volcanic eruption of 2018. . The art was created in the early 80s as we visited the forest often to gather kinolau for our kuahu hula. Standing on the floor of the great forest, we used to look up through the vines and tall trees, enjoying the beauty of the native growth. Ola Keahialaka! . Releasing tomorrow 6/8 in two colorways.
