Celebrating Omega Speedmaster chronographs with artwork depicting Mercury astronaut Walter Wally Schirra aboard the “Sigma 7″ capsule during Mercury-Atlas 8 mission in October 1962. October 3rd 1962, US naval aviator Mercury astronaut Walter “Wally’” Schirra orbited the Earth onboard the Mercury-Atlas 8 “Sigma  7″ mission. During the fifth US manned space mission, lasting 9 hours 13 minutes, astronaut Schirra was wearing his personal Omega Speedmaster CK2998-4 chronograph, here clearly visible on the inside of his left wrist while talking on the phone onboard recovery ship USS Kearsarge.
