Jack has been doing so well lately, even with the daily meds and prescription food...I sometimes forget he does have a congenital deformity that can turn into a bad day. Yesterday was a bad day. When I went down to wake everyone up to go out to the kennel for the day, he was lethargic and pretty disoriented. I put everyone else out in the run and went back to help him. Got him outside to potty and he perked up a bit so I let him out in the run. Went out to give meds and he was still acting off. Ate most of his breakfast and went back into the dog house to sleep. Their good buddy Vega came to play and he had no interest. So I brought him in the house for the day, gave him more lactulose and he slept until the evening. He went out for a little while and seemed more steady on his feet. By the end of the night, he was acting more like himself. He ate all his dinner. I gave him a larger dose of lactulose. This morning he was back to his normal self trying to get into everyone's crate to see if they had food left over. Excited about getting his morning treat. It's always scary when bad days happen. Luckily right now they are few and far between. It usually comes when I need to adjust his lactulose dosage or he eats too much of the wrong thing. Unlike most liver shunt warriors, Jack loves his food. So when he goes off his morning breakfast usually it's going to be a not so good day for him. His surgery date can't come fast enough. ❤️ #borzoi #russianwolfhound #doglover #doglife #sighthoundsofinstagram #borzoiofinstagram #borzoisofinstagram #purebreddogsofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #starswift #starswiftborzoi #livershuntwarrior https://www.instagram.com/p/CpsQ2pBOSae/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
