I can only imagine how it felt for him to see Rouge in the afterlife and it dawning on him that Garp is the only one in life that can protect their boy and hoping beyond hope that he takes care of him, bc he's the only one who knows Ace is their son.

And if Roger and Rouge could see how Ace's life was going somehow, how devastating it was to watch their son grow up that way, the man Roger begged to watch over him dump him on Dadan and doing little more than showing up on occasion and beating them up, trying to force those boys into the career he wanted them to have, showing none of the compassion or kindness Ace needed when he asked him if he deserve to be born.

Imagine being them and having had to watch his little heart break over and over as adults around him (save Dadan and her bandits) made him feel like a monster, then ask the very man Roger had asked to watch over him if he deserved to be born, and he replies "you have to discover that as you live."

@patrochilles-or-bust is an artist, a writer, and an inspiration! Incredibly talented, dedicated and passionate about her work! She runs a blog, @creatingblackcharacters, that educates about creating Black characters with the respect, dignity and thoughtfulness they deserve! All her lessons are carefully written and very informative, applicable to not only character design and creation, but in the world around us as well! I love her artwork, her writing, and her lessons, and I encourage y'all to check her out!! ALSO HER OCS ARE SO COOL PHILIA I LOVE YOU!!!

@achimastar EEEEEE Y'ALL HAVE TO CHECK OUT JUPITER DE BOSS!! Star is so cool and her art style is SO cute and gorgeous, I love seeing Jupiter on my dash!! It's rubberhose inspired, and she has really cool, well-thought out characters like Jupiter and her sister Galatea DeRoss, who are SO CUTE I LOVE THEM!!! You can learn more about them on her page!! @ransao OMG the talent Ransao has!! I'm actually looking forward to a commission from her, I'm so excited! I HIGHLY recommend her work for anyone looking to commissioning artists! Her style, creativity and eye for colors is impeccable!! It's very warm and fluid and unique to her, absolutely gorgeous!! One of my best friends in the whole world who I would die for, Ray! They're a musician and an artist, I'm so honored I get to hang out with them and be in their life, I wouldn't trade them for the world!! Their talent and skills with both pick and pencil always leave me inspired, I love them very much!! You can find their music on YouTube! They're also in a band, and I've been to their house shows, I could go on for hours abt how much I love their passion for music and art!

My mutual GENAI who is on tiktok and youtube! He's a musician, and a VERY good one! His music is so heartfelt and he pours all of his soul into his music! He deserves lots of praise and recognition for his work, please consider showing him some love!!

Fighting back tears thinking of a little boy who would tell his mom pirates were coming bc he knew his dad was a pirate and it might give her something to hold onto.

A little boy who lost his mother and was horribly mistreated by the people of syrup village despite the fact that he was just a baby who was in pain and grieving without really even knowing what grief was and despite his struggling, saw a little girl in the same physical state as his late mother and immediately wanted to help her.

Not only that but setting aside how he treated the ASL kids and his monumental failure to do what was right when it came to Ace, let's look at who he is as a person.

No he's not a villain like one of the five elders or Akainu, but he's alright with letting genocide, mass murder, subjegation and literal slavery (all including men, women and children) slide so long as it 'doesnt affect the majority of the world.'

He doesn't want to rise in rank, bc he'd have to answer to the five elders and the celestial dragons- he's aware of how fucked and corrupt the system is.
