“I’m so sorry it took so long, the campus is insane right now.” He says quickly as the door swings open, stepping inside and resting his hands on Florian’s shoulders. The moment the other had called him Tobias knew something was wrong - Florian hadn’t sounded right, he’d barely been able to get more than a few words out, and all Tobias could think of was to get here and do whatever he could to take care of him.
He leans down to take a closer look at Florian, a frown creasing his forehead as he tries to figure out what’s gone wrong. “Talk to me, what - what’s going on? What’s wrong?” Tobias asks softly, trying not to hold on too tight to his shoulders.
“I know I wasn’t ready to start classes but somebody releasing an airborne gas is not the way to deal with it.....”Rhi said,scrunching her nose as she looked around.”Are you okay or feeling sick? I feel normalish.”She checked around but nothing looked super bad yet.Â
EARLIER TODAY a “ mysterious “ gaseous substance was seen in the vents of paragon academy. the gas does not seem to be harmful but affecting enhanced humans , aliens , mutants , metahumans and any powered individual. some who have been affected have shown signs of loss of control of their powers while others have lost their powers which does not seem to be permanent at this moment. in some cases , humans have even been affected in the forms of gaining unusual abilities , the most popular ability being intangibility , followed by various enhancements such as strength , durability and speed.
in order to control the breakout , paragon has been put under a lockdown until the substance has been taken care of. the school also urges the students to find an adult if they are effected and are a danger to themselves and others. also , while classes were supposed to start today, august 26th , they no longer will be and will instead be put on hold until steptember 3rd.Â
extra info. all mutants , enhanced persons and aliens will be affected and will either a. lose control of their powers or b. they’ll lose their powers temporarily. some humans will be affected an will gain simple powers ( invisibility , speed , intangibility , telepathy , enhanced senses , strength-- other enhancements , etc ) so please do message us with what power you’d want your human character to gain if you want them to gain a power.

Most of the day has been spent helping their friends and Hals’ family. Tom didn’t want her to have to deal with everything all on her own - and he knows she would’ve, otherwise. Even though she’s been effected to, Haley will always put her family before absolutely anything else, and Tom didn’t want her to have to do so alone. So apart from checking on a few people.. he’s spent as much time by her side as he can.
Though he can’t deny he’s a little out of sorts, trying to get everyone else through all of this. He’s settled with Haley now, the two of them taking a break of sorts from all of the chaos, and.. now that they’ve stopped it hits him. “I still can’t use my powers.” He says quietly, and he doesn’t sound quite as upset as he could but he definitely doesn’t feel okay without his water manipulation. He hasn’t tried to go into the water yet, he doesn’t know what he’d do if he did and he couldn’t breathe or swim properly. Right now.. this is enough to deal with.
“Jules?! Oh no-” Adrianne manages to swerve through the air out of the way just in time to avoid an energy blast. She’s fortunate that her ring kept her protected from the gas, but not everyone on campus has been so lucky - and by the looks of things, Jules is one of them. She hovers in the air hesitantly, a frown on her face as she watches her friend clearly struggling.
After a few moment she tries to fly in again, slow and steady so she has plenty of time to avoid anymore blasts in her direction, and lands on the ground nearby. Not close enough to scare or startle her, but enough so that Jules knows she’s not alone. “Jules! Are you okay??”
