To any and all iOS Digital Readers!!
Recently, I’ve discovered a really good app called SideBooks from a website dedicated to giving free media.
They’ve been at it for over 14–maybe 15– years now. So far I’ve started collecting digital scans of comics, manga, reference books, magz, whatever and just putting them in here. It only supports a few files formats like .cbz, .pdf, and .cbr. There’s more formats, but I’ll list three for the sake of time.
One really cool feature I like is the ability to show a book’s spine, as seen in the first photo of the app with all of the manga. Sometimes though it’s a pain in the ass to find the spines to some books because a lot of scanners don’t scan a book’s spine, only the contents of the book.
Be warned though, having a lot of books could take up a lot of space, as only a few books I have now round up to 423 MB in my storage :( . However, there are other file apps you can make accounts for and use to save your book files onto there for future reading. Filen and Proton Drive are the ones I’m currently using.
I plan on updating this once I get more used to the app and all of its features. For now, 10/10 app. Collects no data about you, really good and has made me start reading again!
