My take on grand army
1) characters
the characters are written in such a way that you have strong frelings towards them amd i like that. i hate being indifferent.
Joey- i like her, i like her evolution and the way she is becoming more her. (i will love her in nect season im sure but rn i just idolise her)
Dom- i love her, the way she handles shit, her maturity (btw very fucking beautiful).
Leila- she is the antagonist and the writers designed her to be hated. the mixed race racism/ fetishism is a nice depiction of racism that is less talked ab, she got issues.
Jayson- the dream child, he didn't get what coming from a real working class family is but he's getting there, i realky like him he has a pure soul.
sid- (knew he's gay) this ome is too much of a victim. like they litterally made him the punching baf kn one way but i really like the way he deals with his parents and the fact that he grows and the "remind me to never get in a gab eith you two" oh gawd i loved that
2) the tim situation
Anna did a fucked up thing, and tim was never consulted on what his "plans" with joey. The fact that he watched the rape was fucked up, really.
the thing is, and read it all, joey and him were drunk and high because of the feelings they didn't know how to express (bc of anna and more). Joey initiated the kisses out of spite, pain and as a way to back off. (bro the guys are fake friends bc they shouldn't have kissed her, bro code). Tim was overwhelmed with the "pus*y" comments and he zoned out to not get mad i guess. It was betrayal on both parts. Then the idiots did what they did without consent and without listening to her cry. Tim heard her but ignored because in that moment he made her to be a slut amd all.
Anna was a bad friend after it all, the two idiots as well, and tim was a dick. I feel like he didn't even look at it badly at first aince she orga*med and sunce she was a "slut" to him now.
I really wish he came around earlier. Joey deserves a long appology and for tim to stand up on her side. I think he should get some kind of charges thi bc even tho i like him and see his pountnof view... well he did do what he did and deserves some punishment.
2) the racism
bro i never acctually saw microagressions happen (i don't like in america) and i only got close to what racism is when i moved to a country with a biger pop of poc, i only started fighting and educating myself and others this year. It's fu*ked up... very. The action was amazinga nd the whole All star concert stand... good ideea, hope it turns out all right. Really hope this series touches more people and hope they understand that not only does racism exist but whote privilege does too.
3) the way leila sees joey in her everyday life is interesting since joey barely knows her name and this is to show how much some pople impact other's lives. The connection between dom and joey is so pure, the one between dom to jayson is fragile, sid and the swim guys are done amd i love it
