#siblingverse

So, I felt the need for some long haired VF Pidge. But then I thought of Katie with long hair, too. Now I've got siblings with long hair and Pidge probably trying to detangle and maybe style Katie's hair. I'm gonna go ahead and blame @littlecrittereli for this craving of long haired Pidge.

So, the other night this take of an AU outfit for Katie was on my mind and I wanted to work with it again. But changing it to give her some more orange to her outfit. So! Here we have. And with Pidge, her dorky but lovable big brother.

So, I've been wanting to doodle them again since the last time I had Katie as a tailed Drule, and I finally got an idea. Pidge defending her after discovering that she's only only half Balton, but also his half-sister. He really is getting attached to his family. As he should. You do your best, Pidge! Protect your tiny fuzzy sister!

I ended up scrolling through past arts and came across this piece and in an instant my brain was having ideas and going "What if I redrew this or based on it?" And thus this. With a new addition of Katie having a tail. Because why not? I keep getting brief thoughts of Katie being Pidge's half-sister in an AU and he has to come to terms with her being part Drule (Galra) but he does and he just adores having family, especially one so cute and fuzzy.

Please don't judge me, this has been a WIP since late in 2023. So it took me a year to make... But anyway. You see, when I was a wee little chibi, I loved the show Martin Mystery. For whatever reason my siblings tried to change the channel, but Mama got after them, hid the remote, and let me watch I think two episodes every night (that's what they aired at the time). And I was happy. Fast forward to many years later, I'm now a grown adult, I obviously enjoy cartoons still, and Martin Mystery lives on in my heart. It was actually one of the shows that helped inspire me to draw more. Anyway, when my friends finally got me to watch Voltron Force, I kept thinking Pidge's voice sounded familiar. Well. Apparently Pidge was voiced by Sam Vincent. Who also voiced Martin. Well, one thing led to another, and with thoughts of Martin Mystery, my love of the Pidges, my brain once had potential AU thoughts of siblingverse with Pidge and Katie working as agents for a sort of Center like in Martin Mystery. And with Pidge's dislike of mouth germs, I figured he'd hate biological slime so much, unlike Martin.

I have been hit with SO MANY THOUGHTS and with after this incident and Pidge finding Katie on some planet. Even though he heard from the other Balton that she had been alive this entire time, he never expected to find her out on her own on some other planet, researching the ruins of an abandoned planet. This makes me happy.

Improvement, we love to see it. Anyway, for whatever reason, I was led to this old piece and thought, "Hey, what if I redraw this one, but with great changes?" So here I am. New outfits, new features (the black sclera), better hair, Katie with new glasses, the expressions and gestures and movement. It is PERFECT. I love it. I love how much I've improved, especially for VF Pidge's hair. And thank you, @toasthoneyandstardust for helping me out with Pidge's outfit. I'm proud of this improvement.

Screenshot redraws/edits!  So, I had found this new armour design someone had posted to pinterest for the paladins and I just loved it so much, I had to go for it. It works so well and also feels like it’d suit a bit for VF while having that VLD touch still. So, Katie gets to wear it. 

Anywho! Here we go! Clash of the Lions! Lance just sent Larmina off to help Vince and Daniel, taking away half of their strength. But Katie’s still there and as a technopath, she’s gonna enjoy taking control Wade’s pride of robotic lions.  Damn, when the two teen girls make up the strength of the entire team.
