Agni

Backwhen he was young and reckless, Agni would have never understood whatit was he did to deserve someone like his S/O. As far as he’dlearned from his father, there was no problemwith his behavior, but there was also nothing to really admire aboutit. When it came time for the execution, and his S/O didn’t show upthen or afterwards, well… he figured it had come to the point thatthey simply didn’t want to see him anymore. And he didn’t blamethem.

Yearslater, it’s a surprise to see them. As soon as he realizes who theyare, he freezes. His breath catches in his throat; anything he canthink of to say dies on his lips. He doesn’t know whatto do, and the fact that his old flame actually begins talking withhim again is probably thanks to Soma. (Another thing Agni can thankthe prince for.)

Firstinstinct is to flee. Surely they won’t want anything to do withhim. Not after all he’s done. Not after they specifically left hislife at his lowest point. When they manage to finally talk to him,the child calls him Baba.And his heart stops. “Papa.” Things click in his mind, and eventhough he still isn’t quite sure what happened all those years ago,he can’t help but be happy. This is his child.

Mendingthe relationship with his S/O isn’t easy, because they’re bothdifferent people now. But there’s still that spark between themthat has refused to go away even after so long. They talk all night.He’s ecstatic that they want to be with him again, and over themoon that he can finally be there for his child.

… Thingsaren’t safe, though, and he knows it. Whateverhe has to go through to make sure that his S/O and his child areprotected, he’ll do it. Even if it means he loses his life.

I’m going to have to limit this to one character per series or it would exclusively consist of the 5 main Madoka girls and I already talk about those all the time, soooo

1. Tomoe Mami (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

HELLO LET’S START OFF STRONG, I LOVE MAMI SO MUCH ... her story, her design, her powers, she’s just so good! her fate in the original timeline was so miserable and I was so, so happy when she was given a second chance in the new reality. I think my favorite thing about her is that she’s super powerful but chooses to use all that power for good, even if it makes her life harder. she’s lonely and flawed, but she works so hard to keep herself in check and protect others, even though she knows most people will never know she exists at all. she’s one of those characters that make me want to be better and always do my best, and I love her so much for it!

2. Matoi Ryuko (Kill la Kill)

idk if this is commonly considered a magical girl show or not, but I think it counts and Ryuko is really important to me so I’m putting her on here! hilariously, I am in no way exaggerating and am being completely serious when I say that Ryuko inspired me to drop out of school. straight up. I was having a really difficult time when I first watched the show and I remember the whole “life is tough, but we gotta be tougher!” sentiment of the series and her character specifically inspired me to like ... just cut out all the bullshit that was making me miserable and not care about what other people would think. I was blasting the theme song in my headphones while heading off to my first therapist appointment. sometimes it’s the silliest shit that helps u understand what u need in life, man

3. Kaioh Michiru/Sailor Neptune (Sailor Moon)

I’ll be honest, compared to how much Content there is in the Sailor Moon franchise, I truly don’t know the first thing about this b aside from the fact that she’s a very talented & artistic blue lesbian, but dang ... that really sells it already ... I watched Sailor Moon Crystal back in the day and was rly into it and she was my favorite character, so I’ve been digging into info about her from other parts of the series and I just. I just love her. she is fantastic and my favorite character in a series full of great characters

4. Rue/Princess Kraehe (Princess Tutu)

it’s been 100 years since the first and only time I watched this show, which is a travesty because it’s wonderful. absolutely should go back and rewatch it. anyway, Rue is so good, she has that perfect dark magical girl melancholy about her that made me want to see her happy right from the beginning! also ngl I knew this show wasn’t supposed to be gay and there was never any indication that it was going to be, but I shipped her with Ahiru all the way through haha

5. Minami Rena (Magia Record)

ok so I know I said one character per series and Magia Record is technically a Madoka spin-off, BUT imo it’s separate enough from the original that it counts, AND Rena should get to have a spot because I LOVE HER and I wanna talk about her! I haven’t played the game, only watched the anime that’s barely just begun, but I already ... love her so much ... out of all the new characters, her story and characterization just really captured me and I love her relationship with Kaede. I also love her character design, those pastels and the unique silhouette are just really good!

4. Who were your first villagers?

my first pair were Agnes and Jitters, and I love them!! I especially adore Agnes, she’s my favorite villager so far! I might rotate Jitters out at some point, but he’s also really precious to me, so it’ll probably be quite a while before I do.

5. Preferable method of earning bells?

honestly, I’m a lazy bastard, so I mostly just do that thing where you grow 99k bell money trees. I try to plant 99k bells every day, which means that every day I will also harvest x3 99k bells. that’s 1 sack of money to re-plant and 2 to spend/save up. though on the occasion where I do want to actually work for my bells, I love to fish! I find it super relaxing to just run up and down the shoreline and catch fish for a long time <3
