Back at it with some new Omori art, and this time ship art rather than fucked up shit. This piece here was directly inspired by a wonderful piece of shutterflower art by @/tosteur-gluteal on the @/daily-basil art blog. Before I saw this art, I had never really thought or cared about this ship, but after seeing it, I just kept thinking "wow that's kinda a good ship" and I really just felt like making art for it. This art was also generally inspired by other art on Daily-Basil, especially @/theokusgallery art on the blog. There is just a certain vibe of softness that I get from the way he draws Basil, and I wanted to capture that vibe in this art here, if that makes sense.
Fun fact, not only is this the first piece of Omori ship art I have made, it is also the first Ship art I have ever made of anything ever (and it's gay o(≧▽≦)o !!!). There is a multitude of reasons as to why I have never made any, most of which I wont talk about here, but as I was making this I just felt a strange sense of Joy I never really felt while drawing before and man, I want to feel that again, so ima make more ship art in the future, fuck being afraid (probably not shutterflower though, likely Sunflower or Photobomb or another fandom entirely).
Overall, I feel quite strange about the final result here. On one hand, there are some glaring issues here, most notably Basil's top looking so off here (I really gotta study how clothes actually look ), as well as other smaller things. But I also feel quite happy with it as well, like with how I tried to show how strangers' hair against Basil's face would look, I imagine it would probably look different from that in real life, but there is just something about it and other things here that I just really like. It is probably also influenced by how much I liked actually making it, idk. Anyways, though, that's about it, thanks for checking this out, and I imagine most people here already know about @/daily-basil, but if not, make sure to take a gander at it if you are a basil fan like me.
