So, a guard named Thomas Woodworth at the ICE center in Rhode Island accelerated into a group of Jewish protestors and a bunch of white nationalists are flooding Never Again Action’s page. These are white and white-passing American liberals, doing what is pretty passive and law-compliment protest, and we’re talking about a guard who operates within the facility. These are US citizens exercising their first amendment rights that are being attacked. If they’re willing to do this to them, imagine how much more their willing to do to the “undesirables” in those facilities where they aren’t even in public eye. No one besides select politicians have even really been in there, and we already know that ICE is willing to snatch up US citizens (because they have, repeatedly), and we know that there are current political efforts going into criminalizing dissent and opposition. Screw the “first they came for” speech, the right and the government agencies are already at the stage of attacking non-radical, ostensibly core demographic American citizens. We’re running out of “steps” to escalation. We’ve already got the militarized police, we’ve already got comparable historical precedents, and we’re already seeing massive surges in far right, white nationalist, etc attacks and domestic terrorism (paired with the Trump administration scrapping the government programs that atleast claimed to track and counter white nationalism). We’re already in crisis here, and we are running out of time.
