He is a provider… ❤️ I think it’s hard for him to not see you as some sort of pet. It’s weird cause I think he’d initially keep someone around for Human Observation and Testing reasons and also deep down working with more carnal desires he’d forgotten existed… But he feels a great deal of responsibility for your wellbeing and it’s all the more fun when he can get very intimate with you during it.

Hence why he keeps you healthy to the best of his ability, and though he isn’t fully human, it makes him feel… Well frankly, it makes him feel vile inside to enjoy the simpler moments with you, but he does like it, even if he wouldn’t say so. Your warmth, your nourishment, the amount of sunlight and rest you’re getting… all “fun” ways to pass the time as he attempts to lie low. The thing is if you don’t ask you don’t get so if you’re absolutely unable to approach him with polite demands, you will be suffering. He’s genuinely out of touch with some human needs and the passage of time. But he’ll pick up more over time…

Watching you take care of yourself is fascinating too. He’s mostly taken aback whenever you imply he’d need the same- he’s not fully human and has abyssal power backing him up. He doesn’t need to physically eat, but he guesses it’s the only conclusion you came to when he stared at you throughout the entire process of making food.

In most cases, he’d find such care for his wellbeing almost insulting, but from you, it’s a delightful display of naivety.

He likes reading your emotions, knowing what you’re thinking about, knowing how you regard him. To the point where it becomes impossible to wave off as a clinical curiosity. So when you smile seeing the new fur on your cot, or react particularly strongly to food he brought to you, he mentally files it away. He can repeat this on occasions where you’re too quiet or distant.

I like the idea of holding his massive hand and rubbing circles into it… i think 90% of the time it’s genuinely like he’s been hit by a sedative if you just double down on some affection. He’s so easily reeled in by it, but there’s a power dynamic going on at the same time where you have to be calm as you console this man that could kill you in under a second. Like god forbid you worsen his mood by having him believe you’re scared of him- and you’d be 100% be correct to, and I think he knows this as well, but he prefers to push it to the back of his mind in quiet moments. You’re willing. You’re not thinking of abandoning him. You won’t leave him. He can make the big decisions for what happens, it’s under his control. Reinforcing these delusions keeps you firmly within his good graces.

I like the idea of getting #faetrapped by flins a lot to be honest…. The fact he’s sympathetic to curious people and I’m not observant enough to know he’s a fae means I’d be soooo cooked. But it’s hard to imagine flins desperate due to that degree of control. And i like them a little desperate.

This is why i like neuvi a lot because he could be desperate…. And we got Dragon Instincts Ex Machina to write that into either neuvi or zhongli. You’re drowned in fae love but a dragon’s would devour you whole. And a fae would be a lot more permissive of keeping you on a long but retractable leash- they know you’re still theirs at the end of the day as long as you’re comfortably under their thumb. A dragon is built to tweak a little the second you breathe too long in someone else’s direction.

But to be honest as mature or reincarnated dragons, neither neuvi or zhongli would be quite unhinged on that premise. Like you’d probably sense Zhongli’s tensing up (imperceptible to the untrained eye) or Neuvillette’s increased hovering (accompanied by the clouds darkening overhead) but it’s very well controlled

I think it’s interesting but it’s one of those things I’m not naturally into. However I do enjoy almost… bodily horror neuvillette not really disclosing the nature of his being to you (because he assumed he didn’t have to) and you start realising shit about him and you start having questions about reproducing with him that he can’t even answer. But as you’ll see if I have a lot of biological opinions on oviposition in humans so I guess I’ll preface by saying it’s all fictional and write what you want

I know I’ve written him with One dick in the past but I do kind of like getting dirty with him and it’s like “YOU HAVE TWO?”. And him being somewhat deranged if you get pregnant. Now I know monogamy isn’t actually very common in reptiles let alone paternal care but if this is a fictional dragon I can say whatever I want. Genuinely the funniest aspect to me is that he doesn’t know what’s going on because of little experience. “You think he’s a virgin” in the body he has now yes. Neuvi hasn’t really did it, or at least he can’t remember. It’s not that important to him in my eyes. He’s isolated on principle but also…. Isolated in the way his body functions. And it’s not like there are any resources for his own body. He just knows it’s not normal, which is another barrier.

So if it turns out that instead of a normal birth you have to lay an egg, then like, sure. In my opinion if eggs are involved then it’s going to be something like ovoviviparity, which is where the egg develops inside the body but also hatches inside the body. I suppose that takes away the thrill of egg laying though. I have beef with it because if you’re taking on the main load of reproductive labour it’s so unfair that your partner can just change the way you reproduce. Oviposition isn’t a change in his behaviour as much as your own

Genuinely I think my sensibilities around knowing this stuff would ever prevent me from writing it though like if you’re laying eggs as a human being it likely means you’re genetically closer to a monotreme like a platypus. We just don’t possess the genes to make the eggs BUT I admit there is something biologically enticing about Neuvillette having some crazy primordial DNA that fundamentally alters and overrides your own.

I have similar opinions on him going into heat or something. That’s very mammalian. I instead ask you to ponder Neuvillette experiencing “favourable environmental conditions” (genuinely content with his life and the weather is nice and work isn’t too stressful) and getting crazy baby fever because Now is the optimal time to mate. And he can’t explain that either he’s just like “Fontaine has being doing well recently. Have you been thinking about having a child also? :)” and, no, what?
