Jalec in every episode: Love Is A Devil (2x08)
After having seen 2x08, I have to say....
....that was by far one of the weirdest episodes I’ve seen of that show. With some of the most cringe-worthy scenes I’ve EVER seen. I mean I can remember some pretty cringe-worthy stuff throughout, but this ep definitely takes the cake.
There were a few good things - Jace, as usual. That scene with Max, and the convo with fake!Maryse afterwards, broke my heart. And I did like fake!Clary and Alec because I hated how that entire Jocelyn affair seemed to have been forgotten already. Also I think I might be digging Izzy/Raphael just a tiny little bit. The warlock fight was neat, and Valentine being his charming self, as usual, is always a pleasure to watch.
Most of it though... yikes.
However, I’m going to forgive them all of that for the last 5 minutes, because everything from the actual rune ceremony onwards was lovely. That Jace & Maryse scene was all I’ve been wanting ever since the first S2 sneaks came out. Alec & Clary was nice as well. And just generally seeing the Lightwoods together as a family.
Also, God knows I don’t ship it (even though it is the one canon ship I dislike the least), but that short Jace & Clary scene at the end had so much more chemistry than all the Cl*mon scenes of that entire ep put together.
