We had a blast this morning at the Memphis #Walk2EndAlz! Thank you all so much for having me come sing the national anthem and emcee today’s walk ceremony, it was such a special day to be able to come back home and emcee this walk and have my mother hold the purple flower during the promise garden ceremony. I was holding back tears watching @carolawi hold her purple flower in honor of the people who have lost someone they love to Alzheimers Disease, and to watch @bgmurray727 hold her yellow flower in honor of the caregivers in our community, while holding her precious mother who is battling Alzheimer’s disease. I remember one moment that I’ll never forget from last year at the same walk ceremony, when Brittany’s mother was holding her blue flower, and my mom came over to hold an umbrella over her to shield her from the rain during this special part of our walk ceremony. I’ll never be able to explain how much it means to watch my mom still share her precious heart with those suffering from this disease and the families & caregivers affected. I am so inspired by the incredible turnout this morning at our Memphis Walk and so many hundreds of people committed to creating a world without Alzheimer’s disease; and committing to keep fighting until that day comes.
