1.   what  would  completely  break  your  character?  

she  has  nightmares  sometimes         not  often,  thank  god,  but  often  enough.  in  the  war  torn  streets  where  she  struggled  to  save  lives,  the  twisted  /  mutilated  bodies  become  patients  she’s  loved  /  lost.  in  a  few  years,  the  streets  become  the  burning  bar:  she  can  never  cross  the  threshold,  no  matter  how  desperately  she  tries.  the  crackle  of  the  flames  cannot  mask  the  sound  of  the  chimeras  struggling  to  escape  /  greed,  spitting  venom  as  he  burns  /  her  children      

when  she  wakes  from  those  nightmares,  shaking  /  crying,  she  always  stumbles  her  way  into  her  children’s  rooms.  watches  tim  and  ava  sleep,  slow  and  peaceful.  knows  that  losing  any  of  her  family  would  be  the  point  she  could  never  hope  to  come  back  from.

4.   what  seemingly  insignificant  memories  stuck  with  your  character?

the  sound  the  wok  makes  against  the  stovetop  when  her  father  cooked  dinner.  the  clack  of  her  mother’s  heels  against  the  wooden  floors.  her  favourite  stuffed  bunny,  plush  and  soft  against  her  cheek.  the  rapid-fire  tap tap tap  of  chalk  against  the  chalkboard.  the  feeling  of  an  iv  in  her  hand  for  the  first  time.  the  mixture  of  her  mother’s  perfume  with  the  harsh  scent  of  chemicals.  marcoh’s  profile,  cast  in  shadow  /  eyes  downcast  /  tired?  sad?  martel,  downing  a  shot  like  water  /  dolcetto’s  laugh  /  a  sharp  barking  sound.  snowflakes,  dissolving  on  her  cheeks  in  the  early  morning  grey.  greed’s  voice  /  early  morning  rasp.  the  scent  of  his  cologne  in  the  hallway  outside  her  room.  ava’s  cheek,  pressed  to  that  age-worn  bunny.  the  chubbiness  of  tim’s  little  limbs  as  he  curls  into  the  blanket.

6.   what  is  your  character  reluctant  to  tell  people?

i  can’t  even  be  faux  poetic  for  this  ha  haaa.  sakura  has  always,  point  blank,  had  trouble  telling  people  she’s  struggling.  part  of  it  is  most  assuredly  pride:  she’s  supposed  to  be  the  healer  /  fixer,  which  means  she  can’t  be  the  one  who  needs  to  be  healed.  she’ll  admit  to  feeling  sick  or  needing  physical  health,  although  she  was  always  stubborn  about  it    (  doctors  make  the  worst  patients.  )     what  sakura  really  struggles  with  is  admitting  emotional  pain  or  turmoil.  she  has  never,  for  example,  talked  about  her  experiences  travelling  with  doctor  marcoh         she’s  made  mentions  to  better  moments  within,  and  she  has  confided  that  she  was  attacked  and  hurt  at  one  point,  but  her overall  journey  is  kept  strictly  to  herself.  she  has  not  confided  just  how  broken  she  was  after  the  bar  was burnt  down;  she  has  told  very  few  people  about  her  grief  over  greed’s  trauma.  

that  being  said,  she  works  hard  to  overcome  that  reluctance  once  she  and  greed  fall  in  love.  generally  speaking,  greed  would  have  heard  more  of  her  travels  and  fears;  she  also  has  a  very  supportive  relationship  with  izumi  curtis,  and  she’s  gotten  better  at  discussing  her  fears  or  concerns  with  her  friends.
