Feature Focus: What's "Love" Got To Do With It?
Sorry we're not sorry for getting Tina Turner stuck in your head. It's Monday, and everyone could use some 80s mojo!
Back to today's feature focus: Love.
We'll occasionally get questions from Copious users about what the tiny red heart in the right corner of each listing means. Let me break it down for you.Â
You probably know by now that Copious as a site is organized around each individual person - what I see is different from what you see, but might overlap on interests we share. We build that for each person in a few different ways - one, by connecting you with friends who are on Copious, and two, by connecting with your social networks to see what you're interested in so we can bring those to your Copious experience.
The third way we curate your feed is through the "Love" button.Â
Every time you "Love" something on Copious, we get smarter about the types of things you're interested in, and show you better items - items that are more interesting to you - in your feed. We like to say that Copious is like a great leather jacket that gets better as you wear it. As you "Love" items and follow other users, we get smarter about what you like, and your experience gets even more tailored to you.
What's that they say about love? Oh yeah, the more you give, the more you get - it's the same on Copious.Â
Beyond "Love" as a way to curate your feed, you can also use "Love":
As a holiday wishlist to share with friends and family looking to get you a unique gift, or vice versa - check out the "Loves" page of people you want to surprise with something special.
As a catalogue of all of the great items you've found over time. Spotted a great necklace in May that would be perfect for the Halloween costume you're cooking up now? Go find it (and cross your fingers no one has snapped it up yet).Â
As a shout out to sellers and friends whose style you admire. Think of it like favoriting a tweet on Twitter or thanking someone at the Grammy's - it's a nice way of making friends, and sharing the (har har) love.
Where can I find the "Love"?
Using the "Love" button will only make your Copious experience more personalized and more interesting. What are you waiting for? Love is free.Â
