I'd like to issue you a College Challenge '12-'13: Make the lecture hall, science laboratory and seminar room a haven of focused concentration, free of online distractions. Surprise the critics who say college kids today can't — or don't choose to — concentrate for more than a few minutes at a time.

At last, the months of painful anticipation are over! Try to contain your excitement.

The Shlog, the Sheaf's group blog, has finally returned with an all-new Tumblr look and feel.

The Shlog gives Sheaf staffers a space to dump some of our less-publication friendly material; this page is the home of random musings, Internet gems and a smattering of drunken, unedited nonsense. Graphics, photos and videos that didn't find a place on our main site will also be posted here, too. 

But more importantly, the Shlog gives students at the University of Saskatchewan (who are all members of the Sheaf Publishing Society, in case you've forgotten) a chance to make use of a blog with an established viewership.

So, students, do you think you've got what it takes to Shlog it up? Come by our office (address) on Wednesday afternoons before 6:00 p.m. and say hello, preferably to me (Bryn), and I'll get you set up. 

Alternatively, if you're already a contributor to the paper (meaning we know you're a real person and not a spamming robot), fire me an email and I'll get you started.

The idea here is to create an open, U of S community-fueled blog space. Chances are a lot of what appears on the Shlog is going to be shared on the Sheaf's primary social networks (Facebook, Twitter), too, so it's a good way to break into producing content for the paper.
